I'm not so far, they plan to sell the emotes, shaders, and class items for $20, that's less than the value of the $80 collectors edition. Why you may ask? The extra $20 dollars gets you the strange coin, cayde's notebook, and more. All we get is the emotes, shader, and class items for the $20. I understand this is only half of the weekly update but so far I'm still pretty upset.

What about those of us with the physical collectors edition? $20 is a ridiculous price for those items. So far Destiny continuously delivers too little content for too much money.
-
Could add an option for "don't really care as never gave a shit about emotes/shaders anyway"?
-
2 RepliesWhat the fućk. I'm so confused. DeeJ point blank stated that vets would receive better rewards than those who bought the Collector's Edition. There was no explanation on how it was better ! This makes no sense. All he did was reinforce the shit that we already knew we were getting. This is so fućked. I'm glad Fallout 4 releases this year. Bethesda actually gives a flying fućk about their players. I'm so done.
-
Speaking of, where is the second half of the update? Or did it need tweaking after they realized they apologized for telling us all that we are idiots that will throw money at anything by treating us like idiots that will throw money at everything? Talk about tone deaf.
-
Would have preferred if they made it possible to purchase the physical goods in an update edition.
-
I don't care about the extras I just want the expansion nothing else
-
I don't get how being level 30 makes you a loyal year one player. Especially now with the new gear available, it wouldn't take very long to reach that level would it?
-
No. Bungie said day 1 players would be getting bette ( loyalty ) rewards than 9 exclusive stuff that were in the Limited Edition and the Collectors Edition. I'm still waiting for Bungie to tell me how my continued time and monetary investment is gonna be rewarded. Last nights weekly update was all spin and PR damage control. Stop with the bullshit and start communicating openly and honestly Bungie.
-
1 Replythey screwed things up. now they want to charge 20 bucks for the extra stuff. just like luke said, we would throw our money at the tv. sorry not me. if that stuff was 5 bucks, ok. maybe. but 20. you need your head examined.
-
I think they need to show off something super good if they want to redeem themselves
-
I was upset over the Luke Smith interview, and he sounded like an asshat. But then he admitted he was being an asshat, and apologized for being an asshat. So I'm good with that. I was also disappointed in the fact that new players were going to get all these extra cool stuff while us year on players didn't get squat. But when I look at those vip rewards Hhhnnnnngggggggg *guardiangasm*
I think I just gjallarhorned in my pants
Edited by Crims0nHaybaler: 6/25/2015 9:29:43 AMAt most it will be a $40 digital download. Activision and Bungie lost all credibility in terms of pre-orders last September. I for one will wait until I can see what from E3 made it to official release and if it constitutes 'value for money'.
-
I'm happy, for the most part. Luke Smith has admitted he was speaking out of turn and has apologised. Kudos to him. Year 1 veterans like myself will get some exclusive items, as Deej said we would. That's great. Those of us, again like myself, who only intend to buy the digital download of TTK can still obtain the Collectors Edition digital content via a paid bundle for $20. Now Deej states that this is only a suggested retail price. Here in the UK at current exchange rates that £12.72. Now if that was around the UK price, I would be happy. I really hope that is the case. Bungie have at least made a decent attempt to rectify their position on this. Some might say they've been greedy enough as it is, and to an extent I have to agree with them. I just hope Bungie don't push their luck any further, and lose any more players than they already have over this.
-
No they need to address the price difference for UK it's diabolical should be 25 to 30 pound max for dlc
-
Handsome jack here. Butt stallion, get back to your -blam!-ing stable!
-
1 ReplyI like your name

Edited by Dark_Assassin022: 6/25/2015 10:05:58 AMI'm somewhat happy with it, if there is a truly justified reason for the lack of price conversion (digital version so don't even start the import tax argument), then I'll be happy, I still see no reason why players across the globe have to spend more than US players for the exact same content.

What people still do not understand about business is.......once you have paid for a product you are entitled to complain and moan about said product. How else would things get fixed or changed, this is how business works. A product is made, consumers purchases said product, if errors arise, consumers complains, things get fixed. Thats how cars get repairs, that how stores know about what people want to buy, the consumer gives feedback. If guardians did not complain, then Bungie would never know what the comsumer was thinking and wanting. So before you go telling people that they are entitled little children, understand that they are entitled to moan and complain because they have already paid for the game.
-
2 RepliesYes. Saying sorry is a good step. I think people blew it all out of proportion anyway. At the end of the day, they didn't make this game for fun, it's business, with lots of people to pay for and lots of other overheads. Is it expensive, a little. When I break it down to £ per hour it is incredibly cheap. Only my wife has given me so much fun and she is a damn site more expensive.

17 RepliesEdited by PlasmaSoldierX: 6/25/2015 4:02:03 AMHonestly, I couldnt care less about the "extra stuff" If you ask me, I was just set on the $40 digital edition, nothing more nothing less. Really to me, both sides are at fault. Bungie was at fault, for bad marketing and remarks. The community is at fault for yelling "OMG I WANT THAT SHINY POINTLESS THING!" Seriously guys, its just emotes and shader stuff, for gods sake this whole ordeal began because some people are so absent minded, that they have this "collectivization" disease, that they need to get anything and everything that possibly exists out there in the game: In case you have been playing destiny for the past months: News flash, its impossible to collect all the items, it always will be! Bungie is at fault, but guys, grow up, its $20 of stuff you never even needed. You don't need the emotes. Im just a lone defender titan here, but I guess being a guardian who says, I just want to pay for the $40 deal, I really dont care about the extra stuff, so how would I qualify in this mess? Am I a drone for just wanting to buy the core game, or am I somehow more mature because I just say, that emote stuff, whatever it doesnt matter, I mean Bungie did make controversy with this stuff, but guys, honestly I have seen people act this unbelievably stupid for virtual goods in only one other game, and that was team fortress 2. Seriously guys, its like you are breaking your backs over hats in that game. You are all free to pursue what you want, buy the game or leave it, but this controversy because a few meaningless emotes, dances, and shaders are out of your reach? Seriously? No wonder the game industry is prone to crashing, the budgets have gotten too high, expectations have gotten too high, and as soecity itself has become hypersensitive to the most mundane bullcrap, people react in violent bouts rather than just taking the time to freaking think about these things logically. Ask yourself this: If you play destiny or keep playing it, and you get the taken king, do you seriously need the emotes for $20, I mean do you seriously need it? Its not going to impact gameplay, its not going to put them at a higher level. Its not like if a buy a gally for $5 deal was included. This stuff is not going to break the game. I mean guardians, no matter your platform, for christs sake, how how how does any of this even merit reason to act in outcry simply because of dumb marketing practices? Do you guys seriously have the desire for such pointless trinkets that this becomes your choice of leaving a game? Back on TF2, I have seen insane stories, but the worst was how a dumbass decided to buy a golden frying pan for $5000 Seriously, a virtual item, that did nothing but turn enemy players into gold statues, nothing more, nothing less. And its been like this in other games in the past 10 years in other cases But this, just, wow. I have seen people leave game franchises for developer shortcomings, dissapointment with gameplay, even playerbases, one such case, I left world of warcraft because the community was just outright horrible, it was filled with the most nit picky people, who wanted everything and anything as they said it was and wanted every little meaningless detail covered for anything, it was more a job than a game and I left because if it was a job, why the hell should I pay for a job if I couldnt have fun with it as a game? But this? This is just, embarresing. I mean quit because a few pointless emotes are out of your reach or too expensive, when its just a stupid gimmick that doesnt even matter in the first place. I mean you dont hear about all the new players who would come in suddenly bitching about the year 1 material and wanting to buy that would you? I mean if that did happen, it would be even worse than this. Those class items with stat buffs? Those will be on all new legendary class items. But thats also activision for you, they are the worst publisher in the industry, I generally avoid their games because of their dark history and scumbag methods. I mean call of duty is proof of how they treat their customers, I only stuck with this because, this was bungie. But even after halo reach, I honestly feared for bungie when they said they would partner with activision, it was just around the time after that modern warfare 2 fiasco was going on. No customers are not stupid, we know activsion is the worst of the worst, like EA, they are greedy, mindless, have no concept of the fact that overstaruation for the games market, focusing on quantity over quality, thats what led to the crash of 1983 long ago in the first place, no quality control, and as a publisher, activision has been doing this with call of duty, they are continuing to do it with that stupid skylanders crap, and they drove guitar hero into the ground. Hell this is the publisher that back in 2013 believed its customers and gamers were so dumb minded that they would just flock to call of duty ghosts, when a game that spent a long time in the making, Grand theft auto 5, they believed they would top rockstar, and by god look how that backfired on them. Gamers wanted something more, they wanted divesity, thats why GTA was taken in great numbers aside from the fact it was the first GTA game in 5 years. But Actvision, they are just scum suckers who want to take every little last thing they can from the customer, dont expect it to be much different with bungie as one of their misfortuante subjects now. I mean I like bungie, I like the legacy this developer made with Halo. What I fear though is that bungie got involved with the worst publisher, the one that does all this BS and forces this down the developer and customers throat, and that the creative talent that made halo, is being sucked dry out of their choice, not because of this game, because they partnered with activsion. Because if activsion gets upset, they end a studio and thats why I will always hate activision. I hope bungie survives, thats all I really care for. But everything else? Personally, this fiasco never impacted me. I was never going to get or be bothered by the whole emote stuff. Its really, just stupid Thats all it really is... I just want the taken king itself, I can live without this other junk, I am sure a lot of others can. But if I am being mature here because I dont want the dumb emote stuff either way, then I guess others will mock me and call me a drone because I like this game and still decide to support them? Well I can easily call the rest of those people foolish and just dumb if their reason for quitting the game is because a few pointless emotes are out of their way when it doesn't matter anyway you cut it. Its just stupid optional stuff, it matters no way in the past, present, or future. I just want the game itself. I support destiny because I find it enjoyable. Its got rough edges and yes this whole marketing thing, it was dumb. But Im a customer that with all this stuff, I just want the main deal itself, the game, nothing more or less. I couldnt care less about the emotes. Really I just want to be a sunbreaker and just throw hammers at people. But thats just me. Even then, at least destiny has been a different shooter compared to those with well, nothing ever chaging or finding a standard, do I even need to bring up the disaster known as call of duty, that should just be put down like a sick animal at this point? I mean come on guys, advanced warfare, now black ops 3 looking practically the same, by setting and by themes? Really? Least we get enemy variety in destiny and PVP isn't a mode that becomes redundant in itself, seriously, whoever thought a system to get something to help you kill more, on autopilot, that was just dumb. Thats why I dont play COD, killstreaks, are honestly, stupid. Why would you need a helicopter to kill if you were doing fine already? Thats just dumb. Maybe thats my reason to call COD for children, a game playing for you. Not like you know, Halo you work with your team for map control or team fortress 2 where you combine the many powers of the 9 classes to achieve victory you know medic charges heavy, the rest support around the uber heavy, classic stuff. But this is just me. Bungie, yeah they screwed up in this marketing deal, I'm not denying that. Activision is evil and should be burnt off this earth. $20 for the emotes, is well just further bad marketing. Its not something good like say, 343 industries giving 15 free maps for halo 5 over the coming months beyond launch including the 20 at launch so that we could have 35 approx maps by next year. All I am saying though: "I'm mature enough to just go, eh whatever, it never bothered me, I never wanted the emote stuff in the first place. I just want the $40 deal and thats it, nothing more nothing less." I just want to go to phobos and around saturn in that dreadkaught, and dethrone Oryx with a blazing hammer of solar light. And I can do this all without making a fuss over some stupid emotes that dont even matter. But thats just me.

Edited by Sonic Roctopus: 6/25/2015 8:36:34 AMI hope BUNGIE realizes that just because majority is satisfied, it doesn't mean everyone is satisfied. The other 50% that are not satisfied, or waiting to see, are more important to the success of destiny and are who BUNGIE should be focused on.

Edited by Aprovoked_Mango: 6/25/2015 8:37:56 AMThey have my attention, I was epecting more details on what vips get as deej specifically said he would let us know in the update but we were shown what we already know so that's kind of annoying but maybe more will creep in to today's update but I'm assuming unlikely. I'm glad they acknowledged the price -blam!- and it's nice you can now buy those extras people wanted but as they don't do exchange rates that'll be £20 in the UK and they are not worth that. I'm still unsure if you buy the digital c.e if you can already download the game and play, if so you would fall into the day 1 category. If you can't play any of it new/old until Sept then fair enough but no one's clarified that yet
-
4 RepliesYes, but us day one players also get things that are exclusive to us and all the new players have no way of attaining it while we can get their stuff.
-
I was gonna buy the collectors edition for just that stuff. But if i can get that stuff with just TTK I'll be just fine.
-
all I care about is TTK being available as a download from Xbox Live store because mine is that expensive download version
-
Everyone is complaining about the emotes and cosmetics. I couldn't care less about the emotes and cosmetics. What I dont like is: The price of the Legendary edition compared to the prices of everything in it (if bought seperately). 70 for edition 65 for base game 40 for TTK 35 for TDB and HoW 140 for the lot. So it can be: (based on current prices subtracted from edition) 5 for TDB, HoW and TTK 35 for base game and TTK 30 for base game, TDB and HoW, The price of TTK and its various editions in "foreign currencies". $40 =/= £40. And I heard the Australians got f***ed over too. The euro isnt so bad. $40 = €~45, And the fact that, since TTK is $40, that is the same price (basically) as TDB and HoW. Therefore it should have content more than (preferably) or equal to those two combined. And so far (I know its three months away) it doesn't look like it would live up to that expectation. Bungie only addressed the issue of the exclusive stuff, not all of the concerns.
