I'm not a day 1 guardian, but I'm not a "noob". I've put my time in. I've taken down aethon and crota multiple times. I've leveled 4 guardians to level 34(deleted 1 so my girlfriend could try destiny). I've collected almost all of the exotics, both weapon and armor. I've faced down all that destiny has to offer multiple times over.
So I would like to know if what is actually considered a veteran.
What is the criteria for being a veteran?
Is it how many how's are logged?
How long someone has owned the game?

2 RepliesA destiny vet is 1 that knows how much planetary materials it took(well used to take) to trade in to either the vanguard or crucible quartermaster for 5 marks.
-
2 RepliesIf you have been playing since January of this year.

The good old days remember my 1ST GALLY thank you xur

Much tougher but iTs because everyone cried about the grind. Now they hand 34 to everyone.

9 RepliesSimple. Anyone who played Alpha and / or Beta, and Day One is a Veteran. Everyone else is just a KinderGuardian.

Spending hours farming materials. Thank god that's gone

Know what the loot cave is. Been turned down on vog hard with over 10 completions because your 29 on that character(other 2 were Lvl 30) hate the cryptarch for giving you a blue rocket launcher from a legendary engram. Those are my guidelines for veterans
-
You must know the struggle of the Cryptarch, you must have been there when Xür sold Gjally. You must remember the Vault, and it's perils. You must know the struggle of #foreverlevel29. If you know none of these, you are not a veteran, but a newbie.

If you ain't got the beta emblem you ain't veteran

if u remember forever 29

You to have posted a thousand replies that include any of the following words; "Scrub, elite, entitled, nerf, Fallout, K/D, op, cheaters." Public epeen wanking counts once per incident.

If you remember what the loot cave was. (Whether you did it or not)

Definition of a Veteran in Destiny: Going to the Skywatch and seeing 6+ people there farming
-
To me a veteran is a player who has played VoG and Crota on normal and hard not because they wanted to, but because they had to for gear. Veterans have been around long enough to know how all the raids work and how they used to work. Sadly, this is becoming a thing of the past since the implementation of 3 man squads. I understand that mechanics and strategy come into play, but it's just not the same as 6 fully decked out guardians descending into the darkness and having to play as a team to survive. Now it's just, "that guy sucks kick him" or everyone getting mad and rage quitting when something doesn't go their way.

7 RepliesI'm a vet for sure been playing since beta put tons of hours in this game check my profile

7 RepliesAll this talk about pushing the Templar off the edge. True vets did it from behind the rock on the left side. The original Templar cheese

1 ReplyI just have to say this: I'm a military vet, if anyone else here who is a vet or thinks that this post is in anyway taking away from us the word Vet you just need to chill and relax. Anyone can be a "veteran" at something if they have done it long enough. Athletes who have retired after many, many years are considered "veterans" and yet no one has a problem with it. God forbid that someone calls a video gamer a veteran. Carry on

I bought the game in October but stated playing in November. I've had 4 leveled up characters, deleted my Hunter a couple days before HoW... #doyouevenswordbearbro
