Did Deej really just imply that we shouldn't collect weapons??!!
So i'm casually watching some Taken King footage on the link provided and at around the 10min 45sec bit of the video, in my opinion Deej implies that it's our fault we have lack of vault space from "collecting" things. He goes on to basically say that "we tend to use 3-5 weapons" and that we have to make "tough decisions" to better understand the game. He can't be serious right?? He's got to be taking the piss. I can think of at least 8 weapons i use on regular basis.

4 RepliesIts very apparent that DeeJ does not understand the audience that games like Destiny appeal to. He's right, there are a handful of guns that I use on a regular basis. But I still want every exotic, raid, iron banner, prison and trials gun. Will I use them all? Probably not. But I want them. RPG/MMO type games are always about collecting and having infinite storage space in your home base is pretty much always the norm. The simple fact of the matter is this: Destiny is in maintenance mode. They will only implement changes that don't require significant alteration of the existing framework. The first vault space expansion simply added more squares to the existing screen because it was easily done within the existing inventory UI. The obvious solution is paging, but that would require a large re-working of the inventory UI, and its pretty clear Bungie are not willing to do that. So instead they'll force us to dismantle guns that we worked hard to acquire, killing the fun for a lot of the players. Unfortunately the consequences of this will not become obvious to Bungie until Destiny 2 drops and they see a sharp drop in sales from the first game.

I really only care about keeping my mida, hunger, and my trusty sniper. I might not even keep all of them, because with all the new weapons flowing in, [b]its not about stats[/b] it's about what fits you.

If they mess with the carrot, then they are going to have problems... We need something to chase. Last year was sparse for games, this year has a huge amount of awesome games on tap. I feel like Bungie has this love/hate relationship with its fans.

There's plenty of niche weapons that are worth keeping, I don't hoard vanguard weapons or anything but hell it'd be nice to have the option

3-5 weapons in each slot, maybe. Then a completely different set of weapons for PvP.

Edited by Doc: 6/18/2015 12:06:21 AMOn one hand he's got a point, I do have a lot of weapons that I don't even use but I do keep them for sentimental value and know quite a lot of people do, but on the other hand this is something to expect off an MMO style game, you never know which weapon will end up being a beast and with the way Destiny works you know that it will not be around forever.

5 RepliesMany of us are collectors. Trophies "in game" if you will. I'm usually the only guardian sporting full VoG gear, and could also only carry all VoG weapons if I wanted to. There's no excuse that on ps4 or Xbox one that we have limited vault space...

You are absolutely right, op. He did imply that, and that is bullśhit. Collecting in a game like this should be encouraged. I'm forced right now to delete some new weapons I got from iron banner a couple weeks ago in order to make room

"People only tend to use 3-5 guns" Yes, in the crucible all we see are Thorns, Last Word, Final Round snipers, Felwinter & Hawkmoons "Destiny makes us make hard decisions" Yep, run out of vault space and my decision will be to play another game until I can fit stuff into the motherf#cker "We all have our favorite guns" Of course, until it's nerfed to oblivion (Suros) or the next best thing is buffed to make our favorite guns pointless (Red Death)

Let's be real people keep way to many weapons. If it's a primary and it's not exotic and it doesn't have a burn you should not have it. Period end of story. The only primaries worth keeping are exotics and ones with burns (raid, PoE, trials). Your devil you know is a pos. Stop having sentimental value in 1s and 0s

Based on what's been said at E3 the new expansion won't allow old content weapons to be upgraded. Also, all the new weapons look like they have a light level now instead of a damage value. So basically it looks like I have wasted my time farming stuff but, who knows I need more information.

The problem is that Bungie is terrible at game balance. No one can know what is going to be good in the future since they constantly change the relative power of individual weapons and classes of weapons, and some weapons cannot be obtained anymore. For example, base game Vanguard weapons like TDYK and Shadowprice, Snipers with Final Round, Shotguns with Hammerforged, etc. Anyone who doesn't keep all old weapons that COULD be good when buffed is at a disadvantage. The reason they won't give us vault space is that they want us to dismantle all our old weapons before they try their hand at balancing again, to help cover up the history of their incompetence. It's kind of like how they finally allow currency exchange with the new DLC, then make Xur sell only old exotics alongside expensive engrams with an artificially-low chance of dropping new gear. They wanted to force us to convert our old currency and wear away our surpluses before letting us just buy the gear outright, so that it's not so obvious how bad they are at their jobs when there are players walking around with thousands of shards.

Not that im supporting djee or bungie, but there is some truth to this. My vault was full at one point cause i was holding onto weapons that i never ever used. So one day i got rid of them. And I've never missed them. With saying this ill be mad if i cant use my fatebringer or against all odds. But what would really kill me is if i couldn't upgrade damage on exotic weapons. If that happen im done with this game.
