1 ReplyWhile it is a leap over sony, backwards compatibility doesn't necessarily make it the best gaming system. Look at this: $400 on an Xbox One $60 On live and Anywhere between $300 and $800 to post that on your computer. At the very lowest that's $760 which you could use to build a gaming PC that is infinitely backwards compatible, Reliable, offers the most diverse gaming experiences, and cheapest games. Now take that PC, plug it in to a monitor/TV you already own and it's prime time. Why haven't you done that yet?

The only thing they should be really complaining about is the lack of exclusives coming out for the rest of the year for them an next year as well.

5 RepliesJoke or not, PS4 does have backwards compatibility already via Playstation Now. Currently it's PS3 only, but I believe it'll eventually have ps1 and 2 games Microsoft are doing the same kind of streaming service for xboxone later this year, except streaming the game is free if you already have a copy of the game that's on Microsoft's streaming list

No, because we have already upgraded from last gen. If I ever wanted to play 360 games again I'd play them on my 360 wouldn't I?

If anything this motivates me to get an xbox one this holiday.

1 ReplyNope. I'd rather play the old games on the old systems I still have. It's a much better experience I believe
-
Nah not really. Couldn't care less.

Huh, wasn't MS the one with 12,6m sold units and Sony the ones with ~24m sold units? I don't have a PS3 anymore. Sold it with all the games that I've played in and out. No need for a BC, and a lot of other players will not need it either. Even so, Sony will tag along soon ennough with BC and mods if MS decides to make it a consistent thing. And Sony didn't even hold their presentation yet.

1 ReplyNope. 360's bc was shit as it was software based. This seems no different. Guarantee at least 50% of the games barely run.

I'm not heated because I don't waste time arguing about consoles

5 RepliesWhat did xbox announce? I didn't get to watch can someone please catch me up. I heard something about a new controller but I'm more interested in the games.

1 ReplyEdited by areiter1224: 6/15/2015 9:19:15 PMYour best feature is to play last systems games. Congrats. I am more excited for the windows 10 and Xbox one stuff that is opening a new doors. Ps4 is the superior system right now. Especially for destiny. But with the cross platform between windows 10 (pc) and Xbox one, Xbox is stepping up. Instead of this going backwards marketing gimmick all the consoles should be fighting for cross platform capabilities.

Didn't buy next gen consoles to play old games so don't really care
-
1 ReplyJust buy all the consoles like me. Im a GAMER not a CONSOLER.

Edited by JLoco11: 6/15/2015 9:12:07 PMBackwards Compatibility is only really relevant 2-3 years into a console's life cycle. When consoles release, there is usually a limited library of games as developers are creating games and franchises for the new consoles on new technology. Playing old games bridges the gap until newer games are released to fill out a library. So the feature is great, but would have been better at launch. But if game lineups were amazing from the start, then BC would be an after thought. If games like Mass Effect, Destiny, Division, Bloodbourne, Halo, Last of Us were available within 6 months of release, then BC would be a moot point. But since we have to wait a few years for top notch games, that's when BC is asked for. Within 2 years, the overwhelming majority of players will be playing current gen games on their console.
