Lol no, but he loses a lot of weight and barely eats, and we'll be gone for a while

after a while, his survival instinct will kick in. even if he doesn't want to eat, he knows he will have to. and I'm sure the people at this kennel are professionals who know how to care for your dog. you say he's been there already and lived, so this shouldn't be any different.
