[b]Edit 2[/b] - I think I need to clarify a couple of things.
I agree with some of you, Skolas needed changing a little.
A simple method of resuming the fight would have fixed it.
Checkpoints, maybe a card system similar to the trials that marks checkpoints when you complete one, then you can only enter at that point till you complete the next one.
Burning him down in 30 seconds doesn't always work whether it be wrong group wrong weapons or wrong teleports.
You're forced to then work the mechanics which is more fun anyway. Hard yes but not impossible.
What I hate is that people cry Hard content is Hard and Bungie rushes to change it. Valus? Autorifles?
Bungies sole focus should be in bugs and new content. Not pander to the babies who say I can't do this, I'm getting killed by that.

No you don't. Yes you should have [b]ACCESS[/b] to the content you paid for. Actually being able to do it is another thing.

I for example have an inate ability to comprehend programming languages. But can I hell play the drums or learn a foreign language, as much as I've tried.
Same goes for this game. Put me in PvE content I'll be great. PvP something between brain and hands doesn't work maybe it's the pressure of having a real person in the other end.
It's no shame that you can't complete something some people can't.
Just don't [b]EXPECT[/b] you have the right and moan and complain that they Nerf it.

Ran Skolas last night, I have to take my hat off to Bunglevision the changes work. It's a more balanced and fair fight.
It's definitely easier than attempting legit was with the burns.
I can heartily recommend anyone who was dubious about running it due to difficultly to gives it a try. All you need is communication.

Skolas fight was ridiculous, adds could 1 or 2 hit you in arc burn and in solar burn captains 1 hit you as well.

What bothered me is that we never got to see the rest of the skolas fight since he was dying so fast. I welcome this change. People can still point out if something is broken (in this case, by design and not mechanics) even if they can beat it.

What has the gaming community become? So many tears over things being "too difficult".. Nintendo didn't nerf Mike Tyson in punch out.. Anyone ever complete the God challenges in GoW? That was tough.. I can't believe how much bungie changes because of their "fan base".. Its nice that they have stayed involved and interactive. But they cater to the babies. I'm sure the light house will soon be just a 1 win ticket.

4 RepliesThey didn't put a raid in how. We got Poe instead. They said you will rely on teamwork and skill. Id like to see 3 gjallarhorn uses take down crota in 30 seconds. Not possible. What about Atheon. Not possible. Why is it not possible. Because it relies on teamwork and skill. The fact that it can be cheesed by gally owners is a big deal. Skolas was never meant to be a 30 second boss fight. You go on about content being value for money but this is not value for money. I agree there are other ways to take him down while solar burn is active but the scales aren't balanced. Only ppl to blame are those that cheese him. Such as yourself. Quit blaming everyone else and take a look at how you play the game. I don't have gjallarhorn horn yet and can't wait till I do and yes I agree that it will still put out more damage with or without the burn but I seriously doubt we will be seeing anymore skolas in 30 secs or solo skolas kills. What a joke

Yeah. All that really should have been changed is the amount of Adds that spawn in between things. They were the main problems with myself and my fireteam. If it's Solar Burn, Skolas would occasionally kill us, but it was usually the endless hordes of Shrapnel Launcher Captains. The amount of Adds was all that really needed to be lowered.

Its obvious it wasn't what they wanted out of the fight! They didn't want it to be over in 30 seconds! It was like a cheese and they are fixing it. It was not because of the whiners. It wasn't working the way they intended. Come on dude

There was weapon variation with the burns, now everyone will use gjallarhorn all the time to burn him which is the same as every other boss in the game. I enjoyed using my thunderlord on arc burn, and corrective measure on void, they should of just scaled the adds back so there was not so many constantly respawning and give 2/3 minute intervals between spawns.

They are "nerfing" him because they're mad we're killing him to quick with burn stats and easily getting the rewards. Now not so much. I bet everything I have they will not release stats like they did two days ago after the "nerf" because those numbers will show that less people are able to complete aftewards

You've gotta remember the people who arn't as good as us and don't have any good weapons to burn him within 5 seconds. A friend who isn't very good (whatsoever actually) can never do NF since he doesn't really know how recruitment works and by the time he gets to sit down for a game all his friends have already done it... They're just entitled to the good loot aa we are

Skolas is a stupid boss fight if it's only DPS. These fixes aim to make the other parts of the fight come into play, and that is great.
