Edit - Read the news.
Edit 2 - I think I need to clarify a couple of things.
I agree with some of you, Skolas needed changing a little.
A simple method of resuming the fight would have fixed it.
Checkpoints, maybe a card system similar to the trials that marks checkpoints when you complete one, then you can only enter at that point till you complete the next one.
Burning him down in 30 seconds doesn't always work whether it be wrong group wrong weapons or wrong teleports.
You're forced to then work the mechanics which is more fun anyway. Hard yes but not impossible.
What I hate is that people cry Hard content is Hard and Bungie rushes to change it. Valus? Autorifles?
Bungies sole focus should be in bugs and new content. Not pander to the babies who say I can't do this, I'm getting killed by that.
Edit 3 - There seems to be a large part of this community that are saying "I paid the same as you I deserve to be able to beat it" both about 35 PoE and the Trails of Osiris.
No you don't. Yes you should have ACCESS to the content you paid for. Actually being able to do it is another thing.
Not all men are created equal.
I for example have an inate ability to comprehend programming languages. But can I hell play the drums or learn a foreign language, as much as I've tried.
Same goes for this game. Put me in PvE content I'll be great. PvP something between brain and hands doesn't work maybe it's the pressure of having a real person in the other end.
It's no shame that you can't complete something some people can't.
Just don't EXPECT you have the right and moan and complain that they Nerf it.
Edit - 5
Ran Skolas last night, I have to take my hat off to Bunglevision the changes work. It's a more balanced and fair fight.
It's definitely easier than attempting legit was with the burns.
I can heartily recommend anyone who was dubious about running it due to difficultly to gives it a try. All you need is communication.
This is my final edit. Happy hunting Guardians.

3 RepliesLiterally having to scroll down to read the entire post. It is of no significance to progression, experience, or lore. Believing anyone will read it. 2015 ISHYGDDT

1 ReplyThe reason fire teams have become much more exclusive now is because you are only allowed 3 players. It's reduced the carry on space. So all the people that used to just get carried through stuff will struggle because even the ballers struggle. It even created the max Gally requirement .
-
1 ReplyThey made it harder but more doable I personally like it as now I can attempt it with irl friends
-
agreed
-
The only thing I say about it is they shouldn't have removed the burns. Just added in all the others possibly 2 Mods and spaced out the Burns more efficiently.
-
I don't really mind, the Skolas fight is pretty boring in my opinion.
-
Bump of you beat him pre-nerf. Hola
-
They won this time
-
Skolas isn't that hard as is, you just need to stun lock him asap and it's all gravy.
-
So the prison runs should be more of a dynamic gamely than static and with everyone just running the same strategy it gets boring and old quickly it looks like they are doing a decent job of making it more dynamic so that it can be challenged in other ways and be conquered differently each time making the replay value greater
-
It's cause there will probably be no more burn for a whiles so the need to make him a bit easier
-
I love a challenge as much as the next guy. But if a the game begins feel like you'll need more luck than skill, then the challenge is kinda gone. Enemies being able to nearly one shot and thus requiring people to stick to a particular tactic in order to win isn't the most ideal way of fun. Not to mention if the damage so insane, people shoot for finishing the activity fast before the actual mechanics of the fight kick in = ghorn solar runs.

18 RepliesEdited by BigJon29: 6/13/2015 11:12:48 AMI spent 4 half hours last night trying to complete poe 35 and failed miserably. Yes I should "git good scrub"but I'm an average player and was killed way too easy. The reason I'm pissed is no Checkpoints and I wasted nearly 5 hours of my life I mean come on bungie no Checkpoints is such an oversight imo I understand not everyone has right to everything in the game but I'm already missing out on trials cos I'm a average/poor pvp player. Plus now I can't even complete level 35 poe cos I suck at that so no exotic elder ciphers for me I'm close to being done with this game I love and have spent 8 months playing to death, the thing that kept popping into my head last night was this isn't even fun it's just frustratingly and cheaply difficult for the majority of players at my skill level. Anyway rant over like an abused spouse I'll keep coming back but for how long I dunno
-
It wasn't that it was too hard it was just unforgiving in its state. It was at the point where it really didn't matter how skilled you were, if you got caught out by one captain with a solar burn shrapnel launcher (happens to everyone regardless of skill) you were pretty much dead. Same thing went for vandals with arc burn. If you got forced into a group of them you were basically dead. Kinda takes the skill out of it and makes it more about luck

3 RepliesEdited by Rylan: 6/14/2015 9:22:41 AMNot entirely surprised at the response of the community here. Firstly, you post something you have no clue about. You cannot know this is a nerf until it's out there. Secondly you discount everyone's opinion with the 'weak pathetic fools' insult. Skolas was not challenging, tough content. It was broken content. Easy to burn down with maxed out high damage weapons, damn near impossible if nobody has them. That's not skill - it's a gear check and in a game where loot is so random there is no place for a gear check. For verification look at the strats posted on the net. Most start with some variation of 'youll need two people with maxed out Gjallarhorns or Black Hammer and.." Not a great way to run a game. My suggestion is this....wait and see before calling nerf next time.
-
Why do people think just because they enjoy the whole fight, automatically it's more fun FOR EVERYONE, just because you enjoy it, doesn't mean everyone does.
-
its wasn't people complaining. Bungie looked at the data info of the fight. It was like 40% had completion was under 60 sec, 10% completed as they intended, and 50% spent over 60 min and with no completion. They had to change the fight, and they need to change the drop rate of the primary weapons with burns while they are at it.
-
5 RepliesAre you absolutely -blam!-ed? A Game gets made a little easier and people still complain. This is why democracy is a god damned joke
-
I don't have a problem doing it correctly but Arc week was nearly impossible...
-
Edited by Crazypuddingcup: 6/14/2015 9:11:27 AMValus wasn't hard. He was just a damage sponge compared to the rest of the game.
-
1 ReplyWe won't know if it's a nerf or not until the new skolas is out now stop whining
-
Did you read their post? They're not listening to whiners, they are listening to their own statistics.
-
It is difficult, but not impossible. Some aspects needed tweaks, some were fine. I've beat Skolas both legitimately and by spamming gally's, either way can be done, you just have to have the skill to land shots and get out of tight spots. Same for trials.
-
They have made it to where you actually have to follow the mechanics of the fight.
-
1 ReplyThey should play the games from the eighties. Getting a black belt in TKD was easier. And I can still brag that I beat wizardry and mega man because few others did.
