When you break it down it is not surprising. Given the little amount of time you have heavy available to you, using an exotic heavy is sort of a waste. I can't really think of an exotic special i'd use outside of invective MAYBE, bc i don't snipe and dislike the fusion charge time with my play style. I'm sure this line of thinking can be the same for others. Plus, multiple legendary snipers and shotguns outperform their exotic counterparts. That leaves you with the primaries.
