Silent wasn't good in the 90's I don't see why anyone would but hurt over it

Nah they were excellent, well at least 1-3 were and went downhill after team silent were forced out of making them by Konami. 1-3 are still some of the best psychological horror/ survival horror games out there.

If you like jump scares I guess you would enjoy it

I feel like you haven't played Silent Hill games and are basing it off Silent Hills if you are going to say it's heavily reliant on jump scares because it has the least amount of jump scares in horror games.

Your in your apartment look through hole see a girl walking around and an stuff rabbit staring down if you go back and look through it later on the stuffed doll is staring right at you ( jump scare). Don't mistake me for a child who hates blindly. Don't be so dramatic and say things like that because my OPiNION (looked it up) is different from yours we all have them. To me the atmosphere was the only legit scary thing other then that things randomly jump out and blah blah blah you get my point. I felt the game had more jump scares then anything. I'll admit I was a teen when I played them more then a decade ago but remember it fairly good. Also I'm NOT saying it's nostalgia but people do tend to think games are better then what were when think back on are young days

That's fine, it is your opinion and I'm not trying to change it or make you like the series but to say Silent Hill series relies on jumps scares for it's horror is incorrect and that's all that I was saying. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yep and I acknowledge your opinion I wish I could come up with a good horror game for are small debate but I can't think of any. I haven't played it yet but I heard Amnesia on PC is good

Yup, not everyone is into the same horror as other people because people have different horrors. I like Silent Hills because it's subtleties of its horror and doesn't have to rely on jump scares, gore, and shock horror. I'd honestly say go back and try them if you are ever presented the opportunity to do so. Amnesia is one of the worst offenders for jump scares lol.

Lol I never played it but now I know to avoid the game but yeah if I ever come across them I'll try it again or if you know of a really good one. That doesn't seem fair I just told you I wasn't into jump scares and leaving on that note makes me feel like you think otherwise man we just don't agree on wether silent hill relies on them or not

Lol it's all good and sorry if I came off as was attacking you. I was thinking your friends might be pulling a joke on you with Amnesia and thought "this person is not going to like this game since it pretty much jump scares".

Na no one I know personally played nor will there mostly fps only bro kinda guys I'm the nerdy all around gamer in the group. It's just what I read off player reviews while browsing for a new game one day. Got civilization beyond earth which I would avoid till dlc come out for it just saying

I have but around the time of the early releases I was too big into other games that I only played it once or twice and couldn't get into it right away. I'll try again.

I'll say this the one good thing is the atmosphere other then that it suffer from the same thing horror movies do. Jump scares it's a cheap thrill a real horror should have your hairs standing up just in anticipation. I guess if you enjoy jump scares you might find enjoyment out one or two of them though but of course this just my opinion. Have fun trying them out
