The Lighthouse is bullshit and needs to be changed
No content in this game should be available only to those in the top 10% of crucible players. You wanna give them a shader, emblem, or class item? Fine. But a whole area exclusive to them? With a chest containing some of the best gear in the game? Completely unacceptable. They don't deserve it. They don't need it.
All this "lighthouse" area does is promote elitism and ultimately makes this game far less appealing.
And before you say "git gud scrub" you should know that not everyone is capable of getting better. Everyone has limits, and most peoples' limits are much lower than those who are good enough to get into the Lighthouse. It's existence is a slap in the face to 90% of the playerbase.
[b]Every Guardian in Destiny has the right to access the Lighthouse and obtain the gear from it's chest.[/b] But that's not possible, and until the requirements for accessing it are changed, it never will be.
[b]Edit:[/b] Just for clarity, I'm not saying this should be given out freely. That's an assumption you've made on your own. I do think it should be earned, but the requirements for earning it should be such that it can be enjoyed by most of the player-base. Not just the best crucible players and those they carry with them.

That would not be fair to the good pvp players who work herder to get their gear than someone who does the same raid over and over with the same mechanics.

So what your saying is you think everyone should be able to reach the lighthouse? And to make the game easier to that more people can get there? Then where would the competition go?! It's like trying to give everyone equally paying jobs, there would be no competition and no real improvement or success. In fact people would get lazier and probably not even do ToO because "meh, I've been to the lighthouse before".

I don't know that they NEED the absolute highest-level gear available (since most of PvP ignores LL), but they sure deserve something because they can do stuff the rest of us can't. Anyone can learn the raid mechanics and grind their way into the PvE endgame, but few can get there in PvP. That's just how it goes. I'm not salty about their rewards at all-- the crap is hard and they deserve them, seems to me.

Same could be said about hard raid? Some people might not be good enough for that either, but you don't see them complaining. Lighthouse ain't worth your time, believe me... All that work for a 311 hand cannon...

So people who are good enough to get to the lighthouse dont deserve the rewards there? Ok. Dont try to ruin trials for the people who DO deserve the rewards nust because youre not good at the game. you dont need to be an elitist.... im somewhat decent in pvp but played with 2 of my close friends and we've gone there multiple times from communication and teamwork.... dont blame your lack of friends on Bungie

3 RepliesI'm not an elite player but i believe i am above average in certain PvP modes (control,clash and salvage) if i could find 2 more players in same skill range or better than me then lighthouse would be stale by now. Just gotta keep searching i know i have skill to do it.

XD it is not hard to get to the lighthouse. Some tips are: Don't do it with randoms do it with people you communicate well with and know their play style Practice. Practicing is one of the best things you can do Play smart if you play smarter and communicate better than the enemy skill doesn't play that big of a role

I think they should change the new process back to the old. I'm not claiming to be a good crucible player, but I have my trials games where I get 10 plus kills. Some I may only get 5-8. But for instance I started a card the other day, and the first match was a full group of year 2 flawless on a 5-0 card. Needless to say, they were in a groove together and murdered us on round one. I think this new card process is bullsh@t, again that's my opinion take it how you want.

Not that I was bad compared to anyone else, everybody was using Last Words, Thorns, Felwinter's, Efrideet's, LDR, etc. and Titan was crap in PvP back then so I had to level up my Warlock and Hunter before I could even [b]think[/b] about trying to get there. And even then, nobody who was actually good would let me on their fireteam because I didn't have the flawless emblem yet... Like wtf? How was I supposed to get it if it's a requirement to play? Eventually I found the Twitch streamers who were helping carry people for free, and even then, I still had a tough time. And after I'd done it, I instantly thought "wow, that felt pretty good, but I never want to do it again." I feel like once I do it in TTK, I'll have the same reaction. Trust me, there's nothing to do in the Lighthouse. You can open a chest and glitch out of the map, but that's about it. It's in no way a "social space". They should have matchmaking for it, lmao.

I completely agree. Why should this pvp event give better gear than most pve content. You're lucky to get a 300 level piece of gear from a nightfall and drops from hard mode kings fall are few and far between. If nothing else they need to bump up the drop rate of 311 - 320 gear in other areas of the game. Getting to the lighthouse isn't obtainable for a good portion of the player base and I would say probably half the people who have gotten there got carried too. I'm an average pvp player at best and will find a couple randoms who have been to the lighthouse and aren't any better than me yet well now say get good because someone carried them to there flawless emblem.
