Why are all the best weapons solar?
Gjallarhorn, Ice breaker, Vex Mythloclast, black hammer, VoC, hunger of crota, lord of wolves (it's a lot better than you scrubs think!) and the list continues

I personally think void is the only elemental that's underrepresented. The best elemental primaries are solar and arc(fatebringer and vision). The best specials are solar and arc(found verdict/ice breaker/black hammer) and the best heavy are solar and arc(ghorn/thunderlord) I'm saying best as in overall usefulness in pvp and pve when maxed out. Truth is excellent but is only better than ghorn in pvp and even then only slightly.
