Why is the Gjallehorn the best weapon in the game?
Tell me your opinion on it.

2 RepliesIt's a good PVE rocket launcher. Other than that it's useless. Truth is much better in PVP, and there's really no reason to waste your exotic slot on a heavy weapon in PVP. It's good because it hits with the power of two rockets. Is it a little op? Kinda. Should it get a little nerf? Maybe wolfpack rounds do less damage? Is it necessary, you know:"Must have max gally" NO. It's just good at what it does but that's it.

It depends on your play style. But Gjallarhorn has it's place for big enemies when you don't want to take forever. But IMO I think that Thunderlord is the best heavy weapon. Deal tonnes of damage with it. And as it speeds up and gets more accurate, you can take anything down.

It's not. I have it. I use it. It's something I only use in specific situations anymore. For what it's worth, Icebreaker is more useful. Bad Juju (with an Obsidian Mind equipped Warlock) is a lot more fun.

It has good burst dps. Black hammer has better consistent dps on targets with a weak point. Ice breaker has the best camping overall damage. Hand cannons with explosive rounds have the best effect on trash mobs that aren't majors. Everything has a role.

The rocket itself deals damage upon detonation, and then the wolfpack rounds all break off and deal more damage, about the same as one rocket. So a Gjallarhorn rocket is dealing about double damage than other rocket launchers. Also has tracking, and a hidden proximity detonation perk (But I swear to god that crap gets me killed more than it helps.) Note - I don't agree that it's the best weapon in the game, but it's the best at what it does. Tackling big bosses and murdering them.

It depends, if it's based on damage overall then yes, other than that gjallarhorn is not the best weapon overall.

4 RepliesIt's not the best in the game. It consistently does the highest damage to a single target than anything else (before someone says Dragon's Breath, all the damage from the solar grenade needs to hit the target in order for it to do more damage. Since the AI is programmed to map away from DoT, DB's solar nade will most likely NOT deal all it's damage. That, and it doesn't track so there's no consistency). For a single target, tightly packed group, or endgame boss, there is no substitute. For every other part of the game, it's 100% overkill. It's like using a sledgehammer when driving a tack into a wall for hanging a picture. The exotic slot can be better used somewhere else at that point. Gjallarhorn is just another tool in the toolbox to be used when appropriate.

I wouldn't say it's the best weapon, period. It is, however, the best at its chosen role: the utter destruction of really big bad guys. It has a primary blast like any other rocket, followed by secondary seekers that either cause a ton of extra damage to the big guy, or clear out his reinforcements. It's a win win either way. Bonus points for the epic launcher design as well.

What other gun makes people scream when they get it? What other gun to people say Xûr should never sell because it will get nerfed? What other gun are users afraid of other people getting it? And what other gun has LION HEADS? Also, Gjallarhorn has the 2nd highest damage in the game, right behind Dragons Breath.

these losers saying IceBreaker is make me laugh, Gjallarhorn does 3 times the damage, hunts enemys and has an wider blast radius not to mention that black hammer is the better sniper. but IceBreaker is the number one for big group of mobs and camping. IB is the most usefull and not strongest weapon so anyone who says its best is a clearly a camper.
