How to play Control

For the love of -blam!-, if you team is winning and you have 2 points controlled, don't grab the 3rd point. This forces the other team to spawn anywhere on the map even beside your team mates. So please just stop it. Now you have learnt something new.

  • I know, all you have to do is capture 2 zones and camp, you get tons of kills and you win. It isn't that complex

  • You can cap all 3 and still hold your spawn. As a matter of fact, you can hold two and push to far up and flip the spawns. The spawns depend on which side of the map the majority of your team is, not what zones you have.

    • How to play Control: go to Crucible. Select Control. Scroll over to Launch. Press X or A depending on console. Wait for matchmaking. Load into map. Congratulations, you're now playing Control.

Inferno Control is the best PVP mode in Destiny, it's a shame it's only up for a week at a time

        • I've been in matches that we held all 3 flags for 3 minutes straight once, it was quite one sided because of it

        • How to win in a control match: never get B and always spawn flip.

        • Never ever ever ever take A on blindwatch. Even tho It's where you and your teammates are (not holding the points themselves) that flip the spawns. All the approaches to A are broken. They all take you far enough into enemy territory it will flip spawns. IF YOUR HOLDING A DONT KEEP RUSHING B! It's a kill box. You'll feed your enemy points like a fat kid eats Lard cookies. Taking and holding C is the key to effective MAP management. And having multiple people there will flip the spawns.

              • Yup, just sit back with 3 people near each point you control and its game over. A lot, a shameful lot of people don't understand this.

What are you talking about.......? The act of not capping the third point is absolutely not flipping them, spawns flip when you are far enough into enemy territory and you've killed the other team, your moron random isn't flipping spawn because he is capping A on shores of time, it's because he wandered over and is enjoying the stone wall over by A spawn, which he's been doing while 3 of you died, and now you're spawning A with this Dinkleberg. stop trying to teach people crap if you don't know crap you can flip your own spawns by being too aggressive into A's territory/killing at enemy spawn. While taking that third flag doesn't always matter, if your entire team sits and caps the third point, you'll get a decent score push. What truly matters is being to push enemy spawn. As you're trying to flip spawns you are attempting to orchestrate a simultaneous killing of around 4 enemy combatants deeper into their spawn. On many maps this is done by pushing a point in attempt to grab a second point, while creating a distraction. If we're on shores of time, an intelligent team is going to have some guys watching C, and the rest managing B from boats/towards b tunnel. What I need to do to flip is get the enemy interested enough in one point, to be able to cap another/get a few zone attacking kills. There honestly is not an easy "this is how to run a winning control strat, simply because there are a lot of control strategies. Some common plays, are if you spawn poor spawn side, have a few teammates go b to give the enemy a hard time, rather than capping your own point, A, head over to C and cap it after the enemy team has moved to B, many will be focused on keeping their capture. And you'll have the good point/spawn, free to take B once you've killed some enemies and spawned them at A. Being good at control is all about predicting where people are going to go, so you can be there to kill them, or not be there, to gain an advantage on that area.
