I hate to say it, but "SJW"'s are correct
Western culture [i]is[/i] based on white patriarchy. Tearing down the current mode of thought is necessary to have a truly equal society. Either we discard the idea we are an inclusive culture or we change things. I'm gonna catch heat for saying this, but they are correct.

15 RepliesI'm going to just start by saying that I am a feminist (obviously also an egalitarian) and whatnot. While "SJWs" are sometimes correct (and almost always correct with general ideologies), they're mostly crazy. Yes, racism still exists and the ideals of society are set to white cisgendered heterosexual males. However, no, it's not "progressive" to assault white people because of their skin or female models because they're "perpetrating" something you don't like. Yes, sexism still exists. But no, treating males like dirt because of their sex isn't "acceptable". Yes, we live in an unequal society. No, we shouldn't change that through riots and harm. If someone calls you anything to do with a "warrior" it's because you're being aggressive and, usually, harmful. Change should be peaceful and accepted in most situations, not forced. If you force it, you're just hurting the people you're trying to help in the long run.

I'm not going to generalize. There is a trend of atrocities being committed by people that think they're doing good in their own twisted way, but I wouldn't say that all people that have been stricken with the label of SJW are all the same. It's a label that negates who they are overall, and I assume most of the time they don't choose to be adorned with it. I'll judge the individual.

I hate to say it, but your apostrophe use is not correct. If, for sake of argument, we accept that pluralised acronyms get apostrophes (they don't, because that's dumb), the apostrophe should be [i]inside[/i] the inverted commas.

Very true! It seems a lot of the gamer gate crap comes down to this. They can say its about "journalistic integrity" but from what I've seen its guys who have a problem with the advancement of social justice, whether it be better representation of gay people or women or minorities. They seem to feel threatened because the realm of video games is coming more into line with the rest of society. Social justice, or as I call it, people being decent to one another. :)

To a certain extent sure, however I find some of their claims tend to be over exaggerations and in some ways only serve to complicate the problem further rather than improve the issue.
