What the fastest method to reach IB rank 5?
Any methods or tips are helpful :)

Buy that damn medallion. My dumbass didn't realize that I hadn't purchased it today ran idk how many IB games and turned in 4 bounties. After that I then realized I didn't get it and the feeling sucks! Free points down the drain.

If you plan to buy most of the stuff, or stuff for multiple characters, take the time needed to get glimmer into account too. That was the part of the equation I failed to factor in when I did my first IB - you need to do a LOT of glimmer farming. Even this time I plan to buy two helmets, one class item, one chest piece, the sniper, and the hand cannon. That will be like 50k glimmer total. So, because the bonus increases each day as IB goes on I recommend sticking to just completing the bounties on the first couple of days while the bonus is lower and using the rest of your time to get glimmer. This is the most efficient use of your time. Last time I was runnign around getting glimmer on the weekend when the bonus is higher and that is wasting time you could be upping your rank. Personally I like to run omnigul and pop ether seeds and black wax at the first room. Each runs takes maybe 15 mins and nets me about 3k in glimmer and I find it more entertaining than straight farming. You can do this with the weekly strike this week too, that is what I'll be doing tonight! Other than that just follow the advice most everyone is giving - get the shader, banner, and class item as soon as you can, complete the bounties every day, always use the bonus item for 1 mote of light, and you'll get there.

I'm already 2.5 and only played yesterday. Did all the bounties put on the shader and emblem. No mark yet. And played about 15-20 matches

5 RepliesFinish the nightfall first, you'll get the added xp bonus. As you level your IB rank, buy the banner, shader, and class item and equip them. They give added xp bonus, 10% each I think. Do the bounties each day. Pick them all up even if you think you won't be able to complete them. You never know. Grind grind grind, and ignore the burn. It'll all be over soon enough.

Just get as many bounties done as you can each day. Buy the emblem, shader, and class item as soon as they become available. And use the Tempered buff wisely. As far as I know, the boost you get from Tempered is based on when you purchase it, so it is better to purchase it after the daily reset time instead of only shortly before.

Win near the end of the week with a higher bonus

Wear shader, emblem and class item, always use tempered buff, if you have time free later in the week don't bother playing the first few days as you get much more experience from tempered buff later in the week, that applies to the bounties as well. Always take all six of them, you may get some of them by accident but the xp one, primary headshot one and melee one aren't challenging.

Equip all the shit, win and play on nerd zombie mode the last day when the bonus modifier is the highest.

Edited by WarpPigeon: 4/29/2015 12:53:31 PMuse the buff from vendor daily, equip Iron Banner shader, emblem, and class item for additional xp bonuses. complete all the bounties before stopping for the day, (bounties repeat daily so any not claimed that same day are wasted) the most cost effective time to play is the weekend sunday and monday in particular. see link. the benefit of this is actually going out on a string of losses is not so bad, if you have a couple of medallions still in your inventory they will redeem for more xp the following day so dont be worried about not having redeemed all your medallions the same day you earn them.

First day character 1 to level 2 Second day - character 2 to level 2, Character 1 to level 3 Third Day - character 3 to level 2 , character 2 to level 3 Friday - Character 1 to level 4, Character 2 halfway to level 4. Sat - Character 2 to level 4 , Character 3 to level 3 Sun - Character 3 to level 4 - Character 1 to level 5 Monday -( if I have time since it is a busy day ) 1 of my other level 4 to level 5 In the times between I will farm, farm and farm some more.

For some reason last night felt like a real grind, not sure if it was the long lobby times or me not being in the groove but it's pretty much get the gear that gives you a bonus and just grind away.
