A bullet wouldn't actually do that... His helmet looked like it was made of glass when it shattered which I HIGHLY doubt. His visor would be destroyed if he was shot in the face, but that's it. Other than that they won't kill chief. He just went off and did his own thing that doesn't mean he's a traitor worth killing. Locke is just going to try and bring him back to the UNSC. Dead or alive. He's also going to find out what master chief is doing. From what they showed us I assume nobody in the UNSC knows what his motives are. Besides sergeant Johnson, if he was still alive. Like Locke said I think he's going to find out what he's doing and bring him back. Depending on Chiefs answer I think depends on how Locke will handle it. I mean Cortana is an A.I. though. They can't just let something like that slip through their fingers. One of the most intelligent I think they had/have? Not sure. As a lot of people been saying the sniper is just depicting Srgt Locke looking for or "hunting" down chief. The words carved into the bullet "hero" most likely meaning, the many amazing feats he's preformed and how the unsc hold him in such a high regard and "traitor" simply meaning he went off to do his own thing disobeying orders. Chief wouldn't do anything to directly betray humanity like that. He would apparently do as much as he can for Cortana. Really it sounds like they're making the game into a romance though.
