What's the most unsettling science fact you've ever heard?
I'll start. Neutrinos and photons are flashing past our bodies from dead stars, and all this radiation is going through us.. We can't stop it O_O

12 Repliesclinical trials on genetic manipulation drugs that have been shown in test animals to rebuild and increase the size of telomeres in a cell are now being implemented on the human level as of this year. the scary fact being that research done during this time has shown that its had tremendous success in lengthening the lifespans of creatures to frankly idiotic levels. for instance there was one experiment done on common house flies that revealed data that increased their life span 400%. considering that a house fly lives in the wild (albeit rarely) up to 1 month....thats nuts....in humans that would roughly work out to us having a predicted average lifespan of 75-80 years but turned into 270-320 years...
