Noticed a few people in this here offtopic forums calling anybody in the #Destiny forums 'Desticles'. Is there some sort of hidden feud going on? Are #Destiny dwellers to #OffTopic dwellers as Hunters are to Warlocks? Allies but jealous of one another's fashion sense? Or spiteful?
Edit: Keep going everybody, your mutual hatred for my poor sense of humor and general curiosity is helping you bond.

Edited by Fresh Pancake: 8/17/2014 5:30:03 PMWe won't hate someone who spends most of their time in Destiny if they are intelligent, understand our culture, don't act like Destiny is the game of the millennium, post Destiny threads where they belong, and don't automatically assume we care about Destiny. If anyone fails in any of those areas they are a Desticle and we hate them. The issue being that 80% of #Destiny fails in at least one of those areas.

2 RepliesIt's a tradition of sorts. Every generation of users forms a sense of superiority over the next generation. The new guys get picked on a bit, and how they respond to the hazing determines how well they're accepted by the older guys. It's been going on for as long as this place has existed. The flood has always been a bit of an "end game" experience on these boards. Newbies are usually a bit intimidated to become active here until they've spent some time around other boards. Most lurk here for quite a while before ever posting. This seems to form a sort of pecking order where people who aren't yet established in this tag are treated like little brothers until they get their big boy pants on. The Halo crowd picked on the H2 crowd. The H2 crowd picked on the H3 crowd, etc, etc. And again.. how people react to the teasing is usually what determines their place around here. Those who can play along without getting their panties in a twist will blend into the flood in no time. Asshurt kids without a sense of humor will most likely be mocked for eternity. And the cycle continues.. It's not that anyone hates newbies. We just want to have a bit of fun with them, just like older generations had with us. One day, you'll be here beside us hazing the Destiny expansion crowd, too.

Edited by BrownMan97: 8/16/2014 11:02:49 PMI don't have a problem with Destiny dwellers. I have a problem with Desticles. Desticles just happen to be the dominant species in the #Destiny forum so, at a glance, it would appear that The Flood does hate all things #Destiny. However, there are some intelligent users in Destiny. It's just unfortunate that the forums have been dominated by prepubescent middle schoolers who swear their allegiance to a faceless company. Edit: Hunters are superior to Warlocks in every way.

>log in to forums >see posts in #Density >one is a debate about including split screen for next gen >all these 9 year olds wanting retarded features and saying split screen is unnecessary and ruins gameplay >needing brain surgery after visiting a place that retarded

1 ReplyNo, Floodians do not like Desticles. And it should be noted that those idiots were the ones who first started calling themselves a name derived from male genitalia; not us.

6 RepliesEdited by Qwerty: 8/17/2014 12:54:28 AMHere we see the #offtopic-er in his natural habitat of Dorito chips and computer glare tans. We must be careful, the #offtopic-er is afraid of newcomers and will become vicious and/or run away. We should be fine, its bark is much worse then its bite... Lol, aAaAAAaanNnnnNnNNnyyyyyyway, there is seven layers of Desticle hatred:
Level 3: Has Desticle hate running in their veins. Goes out of their way to mention how dumb Desticles are. Constantly checks profile accounts they don't recognize to see if they have played Destiny. Mutes anyone in #Offtopic that mentions #Destiny with anything other then sarcasm. Level 2: Falls to the stereotypes placed on Desticles, will avoid or shame after someone gives any major wiffs of Desticular Cancer. Will join in on the hate threads, but not start them. Level 1: Finds #Destiny bearable, may be one themselves, generally will get along with #Destiny or Hives. Level 0: Has no idea what Desticles are/can appreciate a good fanboy, but not an idiot. The neutral ground Level -1: Finds #Destiny bearable, finds the game fascinating and (mistakenly) joins to discuss the game in preperation for 9.9.14, generally will get along with #Offtopic Level -2: Is the starter of the stereotypes placed on Desticles. Has the Desticular Cancer stick stuck so far up their butts they find themselves not only dreaming of the game, but dreaming of the forum to which they will praise the game. Constantly asks other "Whut cless ew gun pley?" and is already planning their loadout Level -3: DeeJ™
Just don't talk Destiny or Stupid when in #Offtopic and they will treat you fine. If we want to talk Destiny, we will go there. Just look at me; I am known as a Flood, who frequents #Destiny, and maintains positive opinions from both sides (as far as I know <_< ) P.S. same thing happened with Reach. Everyone joined at one point for a Bungie game. You serve your years of noobdom and are eventually accepted when the newwaves arrive
-
24 RepliesGenerally, yes. It's nothing personal though, just a part of the natural cycles of the internet. People hated Reachtards when they joined, now reachtards hate desticles. I'm sure the desticles will spread the hatred to 'density 2' or whatever game bungie does next. That being said, not all new members are desticles. It's just the cringe inducing idiots who treat it like the second coming of shrek and worship everything bungie throws out about Density.

3 RepliesThe off topic board has always been 3edgy5me about the game boards.

Most people on #Destiny can't comprehend the English language.

Are #Destiny dwellers to #OffTopic dwellers as Hunters are to Warlocks?
Because they say stupid shit like this.

Edited by Blonic : 8/18/2014 2:08:27 PMWelcome to the bnet's version of highschool, enjoy your stay. EDIT: I see CoconutMarty beat me to the comparison, damn.

Shut up you stupid -blam!-ing desticle, I swear to christ if you don't shut up I'll shank you.
-
i don't even care about the offtopic/destiny battle i just have a feud with the complete sh1tshow that is #gaming
-
It's far from hidden, whelp. We are already far beyond you.
-
Yes. The majority of #Destiny's population are whiny, mentally autistic four year old children who can't help but bash when someone bad mouths their precious game. No one their is allowed to have an opinion that deviates from the majority's. It's disgusting and pathetic. We could do a lot worse than Desticles.
-
Most of us don't like the #Destiny dwellers.
-
So this is what racism was like
-
>implying that #offtopic isn't #Destiny tier at the moment Desticles done infested this place.
-
5 RepliesStupidity is annoying.
-
Old people hating on the new, nothing new there. People just hate some of the stupid things that some of the people say in #Destiny.
-
No, floodians dislike strongly desticles.
-
41 RepliesThere is a topic made specifically for Destiny. When they post their shit it here, it pisses us off. The desticles are too ignorant to read the title of the forums.
Are #Destiny dwellers to #OffTopic dwellers as Hunters are to Warlocks
And there's shit like this.
-
We're not typically fond of stupid Destiny analogies.

1 ReplySome of us don't even go to Destiny.
