Try applying a Jolt or Slow effect to them, this will help keep them suppressed long enough to kill. I normally run an Arc build with plenty of Jolt capabilities, but if you aren't running those subclasses then using weapons with Chill Clip or Voltshot can work as well to a lesser degree.
