Im not sure that this is the “-blam!-” pvp game mode. The single life mode is what keeps the average player out of the playlist because it punishes him/her for being below the top x% and also punishes the rest of the team.
I personally think survival where you have a few more lives to invest per rounds is more compelling. People can start off weak and come back.
I personally - a below average player - dont like rotating maps. I need to get a feeling for how the map plays, select weapons/subclasses/ openings that I feel will work.
I dont know if zones are better. I feel like it just draws everyone to a similar fight each time and there is less variation than could be. I understand how campers slowed down trials but zones are not the only way to deal with it. Eg you could penalize someone for inactivity - drop their health etc- or like a reverse frenzy modifier where if youre not doing anything you dmg drops off…

You can still comeback after losing rounds though,survival would just make it a lot slower,if anything the changes they’re going to make to ability cooldowns will save the playlist,that way void titan won’t dominate as much.
