welp, it's official, Handcannons are now back because they compeat with EVERY WEAPON and does CRAZY DAMAGE, HEAVY FLINCH, AND HAVE INSAINE AVERAGE AIM ASSIST. It's like bungie didn't learn their lesson here. You either lower the average Aim Assist of HC's OR reduce the range.

People are just flocking to the outliers as usual (which there are considerably fewer than normal). Ace has the highest range and an amazing perk crimson is just an overall really good weapon with an amazing perk so it's clear why they're the most popular. The legendary handcannons are pretty much in a perfect spot along with the other legendary primary archetypes. Pulses slay, autos still slay, sidearms have always been good, heck even scouts have a place right now. If it weren't for the outliers like Ace and Crimson, I think there would be a ton of variety right now. Only adjustments I'd say we need is to tune Ace and crimson down, and tune high rate of fire smgs and low rate of fire autos up. Neither of those types of weapons can do anything in the current sandbox and honestly haven't been able to do anything at all for a while now. Nerf the the Ace of spades and crimson range and maybe tone down the aim assist on them as well.

Pulses are godly. SMGs are still cracked. Autos are still viable. Scouts are on the up and up. Side arms should be specials. Bows = bodyshot god Everything is good. Review your ttk chart before complaining please. I can almost guarantee you have a slightly faster ttk with most other weapons. If they hit the optimal ttk and you don't..... That's your fault. Don't worry. Just spam stasis if you miss your shots and you win. 👍

I think HCs and SRs require skill, and when people get better with the Plebs come out and complain for them to get nerfed. Day 1 of Iron Banana and I’ve probably died to Summoner and Gnawing Hunger the most.

1 ReplyAce is doing very well, Crimson is murdering. Thorn is only above average and TLW and Sturm are between Ace and Crimson. The best of the legendaries are just below Ace. Overall, I agree they are outperforming the average. Sunshot is not good. Seems like the 180s aren't that good either. I'm all for Bungie rewarding people for landing slow, consistent headshots when skill is involved. But I also agree that more people are going to move back to them when they see they're working as well as they are, especially on PC. If crossplay between PC and console ever happens, us peon console players are just flat out screwed.

3 RepliesOn console I never see handcannons. It's still nothing but shotguns, snipers and jotunns. Occasionally a pulse here and there. But the meta is stasis subclass. I'm sick of ice walls. Im sick of that grenade that sucks me into it and slows me. Im sick of hunters bouncing knives around corners. Im sick of getting frozen. Fvck this stasis meta. It sucks!

I’ve been using a pulse rifle for most of my time this season. No time, sacred providence and cold denial are all fantastic.

I prefer hand cannon metas over auto rifle metas anyway.

Hand cannons will always be meta, and they should be more meta over autorifles and pulse. They are risky but rewarding, if you miss a shot you’ll lose the gun fight.

Technically out of all primaries handcannons have the highest skill ceiling and it’s fitting that they have the highest reward And it’s not like other weapons are bad
