I'm not trying to sound trollish but are you using the right weapon and grenade for anti-barrier? The champion debuff usually lasts 5 seconds. Double check your mods and make sure your loadout matches. Good luck.

I have anti barrier rounds on a pulse and something else on grenades for overload things

Make sure you slot the mods into your armor too, just because its unlocked in the artifact doesnt mean you have the effect you've just got access to it if you catch my drift. In the artifact when you hover over a mod it will tell you what slot the mod fits into. Hopefully that helps
