This is pretty much confirmation that Bungie forgot all about it. Requiring an emergency hotfix only hours before the yearly expansion, leaving only a 3 hour window on a Monday? Or wait wait, let me guess, that's how it's always done? Bungie can't possibly make such a grievous oversight?

10 RepliesEdited by JazzyPaladin477: 11/6/2020 8:36:18 PMMaking theses events a “surprise” is a bad idea. Let people plan to Be there so they can experience it. Don’t put it on Twitter, don’t put it on Instagram, put it on the damn companion app with the twab the week before. Have an in game announcement every time you log in the week before. I missed the last one totally despite having checked the phone app several times that day. Knew nothing about it until it was over.

6 RepliesA secret event at the tower a few hours before they take the game offline seems pretty poorly planned out.

1 ReplyIf this is true then PS4 don’t get to witness it

I read that chill in the tower part, but I’m also hoping you can see whatever from the farm. That’s where they should’ve had the event. I enjoyed that place so much more than him the tower, and wished they had done more with it instead of just vaulting. I’m going to check it out anyway and see, as well the tower.

33 Replies*slow claps Bungie* Thanks for considering every country and all those who have to work ... bunch of thankless c**ts.

9 RepliesMonday afternoon, a perfect time for everyone to miss it.

Does anyone else think the pyramid ships are going to “take” (IE Paracausal event/dimensional transference) the planets they’re hovering over to justify they’re being vaulted (lore wise)? It makes much more sense than the locations just simply disappearing.

2 Replies*yawn* Irrelevant.

I watched a fast forward clip of that mega event that took place at the tower as I was not playing the game then. I am clearly not interested in spending time watching a small one. I was wondering what this last dance covered, now I know it was just a disguised way by Bungie to have some people see it and spread the word.

12 RepliesApparently, some people have hit a paywall to read the article.. Below is a copy paste of the Article written by Paul Tassi of the Globe and Mail. Destiny 2 fans have been wondering if Bungie was going to be closing down Season of Arrivals with another live event, given that A) we had one last season with the destruction of the Almighty and B) we have four giant Pyramids hovering ominously over four zones that are about to be taken out of the game. Well, the cat’s out of the bag, though it seems by accident, and it had to be later confirmed by the most authoritative source at Bungie, Luke Smith himself. Yesterday, an official Bungie email went out which said the following: “Be sure to catch the finale of the Season and see the conclusion before Beyond Light releases. For more information on what is coming, read the new This Week at Bungie now.” That sure sounded like it was revealing an end of season “finale” event, and yet linking to the TWAB, which actually said nothing about it. This caused Luke Smith to chime in a few hours later: "Is there an end of season event?" We have a small event to close out Season of Arrivals. We wanted it to be a surprise but an email accidentally mentioned it! It's nothing too crazy, just a little time to chill in the Tower before the Lights go out." So yes, there is one, and while Smith is not being super specific, here’s what I am extracting from this: “A small event” – Something smaller than the Almighty destruction and crash landing. “A little time to chill in the Tower” – So nothing on any of the planets going away, and this reinforces my theory that this may be the Traveler healing itself before Beyond Light. “before the Lights go out” – Everyone really reading into the capitalization of “Lights” there, but really what this part says to me is the time, which seems like it will be close to when servers go down for 14 hours on Monday night. Before any of this happened, players noticed that Bungie had said that on Monday at 7 PM ET, players will be removed from activities and asked to download a small update before logging back in. This implies to me they may be loading in the live event at the last minute so that it didn’t fully leak beforehand. So whatever is happening, it may start around then. So in short, plan to be in the Tower some time between 7 PM ET when this update happens and 10 PM ET when the servers are shut off. I don’t know if the event is literally three hours or might just be the last thirty seconds before the server goes off, but this is what we know right now. I am glad they’re doing something, however small. Given all the in-game stuff happening with the zones disappearing it did seem like a live event was inevitable. Whether Luke Smith is underselling it for a massive surprise, I don’t know, but I would keep expectations in check. My expectation level right now = watch the Traveler heal or watch a Pyramid show up on earth finally. But we’ll see, and know for sure in just a few more days now. Uh right, so back to solving that ARG…

Wonder what's gonna happen. Pyramid ships arriving on Earth and surrounding the Traveler?

4 RepliesI know this guy is "in the know", but I really don't trust anything that doesn't come from the horse's mouth. so if bungie isn't telling us there's an event, I'm not expecting an event. If I miss the event because I didn't trust an outside source, I'm not gonna feel bad about it either :)
-
I wonder if it’s time locked

If it’s like the last event, I’m going to catch it on YouTube or something. Waiting an hour or so for a light show was pretty lame in my opinion.
