Seeing as though we get different loot and we had different outcomes from choosing the Drifter over the Vanguard. And from consulting with friends who play Destiny 2 with me. One of them said that the Drakness powers will depend on that choice.
After thinking about that, it wouldn't be fair to all the people who chose the Vanguard. (They would still get a darkness subclass, but only one is what my friend said) It would seem to be very low and ruin the experience for those players, don't you think?
How do you think this will happen. Because I think we can make space for the subclass selections. What I mean is by having the clear/empty part in the subclass selection menu is by having the light on the left and the darkness on the right.
I'll edit this if this doesn't make sense and add a link to the warlock voidwalker subclass to help as well.

It won’t affect anything if you don’t play the expansion.

1 ReplyNot in the slightest at all. Though, I wouldn't put it past Bungie to make a pre-f2p decision matter over a year later when that content is next on the chopping block.

3 RepliesLet’s be honest here, are the people who chose the Vanguard really the type of people to use anything related to the Dark? In my eyes, choosing the City is to chose to stay loyal to the Light. Choosing a darker path is choosing to survive what is coming, and have a damn good time doing it.

I think we’ll just get some dialogue differences. I don’t expect anything major to happen until the Darkness makes its way to the City, and the Drifter decides it’s time to leave. If you went with him in the allegiance quest, he’ll probably offer to take you with him, and you could be a part of his crew. But if you helped Aunor, he’d leave you behind. At least, that’s what I think think would be cool.

Most likely it will just be some armor differences and a different skin of weapons from each other tbh. If they had actual subclass differences people would lose their minds given game just isn’t built to support something like that. I’m guessing like faction rallies where you pick 1 and are limited by drops then maybe a while later they will just throw drops in loot pool.
