This pretty much sums up why people are leaving Bungie.

"It's obvious that Bungie's focus is on monetization, something that the community has picked up on. There are far more Eververse (the in-game cash shop) items than there are for going flawless in Trials of Osiris or completing the new top-tier Grandmaster difficulty for Nightfalls. The only incentive Bungie is interested in cultivating is getting people to buy more virtual stuff. Yes, I get it, Destiny 2 is a live service game and Bungie doesn't have Activision's backing anymore. But it's sad when the community feels like things were better in the Activision days than they are in the independent Bungie ones." This part alone shows how much your to focused on your cash shop than A. Fixing the game properly B. Giving us worthwhile enjoyable content. C. Shows how greedy you've become since you left actiivision. Why once this season is over I'm out. Edit: Already got two bungie fanboys. Edit 2: if you dont think the game is dieing I've been sitting in orbit for an hour now waiting for a crucible match so hard to find 12 people?

The numbers for the data can be found using the Charlemagne discord command !pop. Yesterday had 1.08 million across all platforms.

The fact that Guardian games even happened? Can you even believe this made it out the door? How can they talk about valuing the players.

    • Major thing is the constant nerfs and no fixes for the launch bug and constant error codes and perpetual Shotgun/sniper meta in pvp.

    • Agreed. I don’t know why loot incentive is so hard for them. It’s like they really don’t want to give us cool shit for something. The fact that trials weapons and armor are basically reskins is a slap in the face, the difficulty to achieve flawless is a true pinnacle achievement worthy of some cool new stuff. But it sucks that you can spend 10 bucks and get cooler stuff than busting your butt in bungies p2p sandbox trying to achieve something most players won’t.

If Bungie doesn’t do the following things they’re toast. 1. Add MM to all activities, redesign the game to accommodate MM for all activities 😬🤷‍♂️ or add in game LFG or raid finder. Raids should take seconds to get into like ESO, WOW. Make them challenging yet doable, more fun combat based and less timed platform jumping based. 2. Add transmog, look however you want using any past gear you’ve gotten. Making getting everything worthwhile Armor wise past or present, everyone would look vastly different and unique. Weapons can still be retired whatever. Armor Collections section would turn into a transmog station. 3. Strike specific loot always, greater chances to get exotics from chest, lost sectors, public events. Or here’s a concept as well, let any loot (90% of the loot table of everything has a chance to drop from any activity conclusion) hmm suddenly just playing the game has a “what loot is around the corner feeling” I’d rather get stuff this way and have XUR removed entirely, I’m gonna wait for a guy every weekend to get exotics like wtf is that man. Refresh vendors loot. Make the game less of a full time streamer job and more of a fun thing for ordinary ppl to play. 🤷‍♂️ These designers need a wake up call.

As much as people want to blame eververse for people leaving, that's not the case. No matter what bungie puts in the store, it's all cosmetic, doesnt affect game play, and you dont have to buy it. The main reason people are leaving the game is because it's just not as fun anymore. There is some burnout involved, but a lot of the fun has been taken out by bungie and the community. Exs: very few new strikes since d2 launched; how assets in the game are used like the IF, lost sectors, etc.; people complaining and asking for nerfs cause they die to something; the specific bounty game play. Those things, along with others, are draining the fun out the game, hence people leaving.

      • Nothing to do with ever verse. Problem is there’s next to zero player customization. Zero loot that matters or makes a difference. You can beat any content in the game with blue weapons and can literally close your eyes and pick a random subclass tree. (They are a joke) There is nothing to achieve or work towards in this game. Theory crafting? Lol! Is it really that hard not to see the problem? By design they built a game that requires 48 hrs experience to have the tools to beat everything. No critical thought required. But at least no one will feel left out by handing every player everything.
then take it away rinse and repeat
• I think I read that article, found it funny the guy was referring people to Apex Legends and complaining Destiny had no content, because Apex Legends literally has no content, lol. That aside, people aren't leaving due to monetization, they are leaving because the game has become a boring bounty simulator and Guardian Games and Warmind Bunkers are about the most boring and un-fun thing to play in the long history of un-fun things to grind in Destiny. The game is literally a job now if you want the triumphs and there is nothing fun to do. The season pass is basically pay $10 to run a thousand bounties every day. Honestly it's kind of shocking to me how they've lost out on the simple things they could do to make the game more fun. I logged into Destiny the other day because I was feeling nostalgic and taking a look at my Titan's inventory and seeing the sniper rifle I got from the Sepiks strike, and the fusion rifle and helmet I got from the Darkblade, it made me remember how fun the last year of Destiny was with all the activities and loot you could get. I did a public event just for the heck of it and had a bunch of stuff drop, it was like winning a slot machine in Vegas. Now when you do a public event it's a meh blue and some planet mats. When you complete a strike it's 3 meh blues and some tokens. Before when you had the chance to get some strike specific loot it just added something extra to the game and gave us more variety, now everyone is running the same guns and it's just boring. Come on Bungie, it's pretty easy at this point, design 4-5 pieces of gear/armor that can drop in strikes and put a second chest in them. Bring back the strike loot. Given there are so many cool strikes with the Vex, Hive, etc. there could be really awesome special gear to get from them.

          • I agree and can fully appreciate what was in that artical, I am sat right now looking at my screen thinking 'do I really want to log? Can I be bothered?' No I cant. Logging on D1 and parts of D2 I used to think 'what do I WANT to do' now it's more 'what do I HAVE to do' and that is not how I want a game to feel. People say player burn out is a big factor, probably right, but that is bungies responsibility, they need to stop the players burning out,if players burn out they leave and that is precisely what bungie cant afford right now, neither one can exist without the other so bungie has to stop the burn out, to do that they need a big overhaul of the systems and land scape of this game and inject some real TESTED fun, exciting and unique experiences.

Point B is not only down to personal opinion but also, how much content do you want? And what would you suggest. More pvp maps? More horde modes? More strikes? Another raid? That's all they can really add. Then you'll burn through the content and be bored once again, asking for more. How much more do you think they can realistically add? Also, why wait till the end of the season till you're "out"? If it frustrates you that much, take a break And the game has been dying since d1, yet you can still get a pvp match in d1. That's just a case of your wish vs reality

              • I read that one and concur. Thanks for the signal boost! On the plus side, apparently Bungie is sending out surveys asking lapsed players about very recent experiences. I suspect the recent falloff has been very severe, so I hope they start making significant changes and get off this current trajectory.

              • I left because this game is a pile of dog do do. The constant nerfs, lack of imaginative exotic gear, boring content, the nerfing.. I never played pvp much, never cared for it. But when pvp needs effect pvp so much, its just ridiculous. I just want to blow shit up. The last year of D1 was fun then they went back wards.

              • Bungie does not have players, it has payers. The whole experience is about the haves and have nots. It's been this way since the beginning. Bungo created this environment in order to induce feelings of jealousy and envy in the hope that people will fork over their cash "just to fit in".
"They will throw money at the screen

making games is hard

Gjallahorn flash drive
• Why not leave now? I did, deleted the pile of shit I think 8 days ago or so. You sound like an abused person (I'll stop once this season ends). . Or maybe next season or the one after that. How about being a man for once and sticking with your opinion on something? You hate it, don't like it, want to end it. Be a man and end it. Sooner the better.
