It's been ages since the Sleeper Simulant has been put to sleep. A once amazing exotic, with a long questline and a terribly grindy catalyst, is now well redundant. I feel it's about time to give it at least a fraction of its previous glory back, above all since it was nerfed due to issues on a specific game mode *gambit rolling eyes*. This nerf should have been supposed to be a temporary hotfix, instead of a permanent tomb-stone.
Instead of that, we get (soon) 3 complete seasons of the funkiest meta on PvE, which is Izanagi. Double iza + div, to do almost every end-game activity, making redundant every other possible loadout on non-matchmade activities: nightfall, nightmare hunts, garden of salvation, crown of sorrow, scourge of the past, are only some of the few where I felt falling short if I didn't use this exotic. So many godrolls and exotics, just rusting in the vault, which takes the fun away on a game where you are supposed to grind and collect stuff.
TLDR; Sleeper please (at least a little), tired of iza

I honestly don't understand how this weapon got destroyed because it too "OP" in gambit ... Yet Truth has remained untouched and maintained its numerous rockets in the chamber

1 ReplyEdited by Unbreakable Patches: 2/10/2020 3:01:27 PMProvided you’ve got the catalyst, it’s actually not bad. It’s overall output is solid as hell and the charge time is like 25% faster with the catalyst. The Gambit nerfs were only to aim assist if I recall correctly. It did get a nerf to its ricochet damage at some point, but I think that was mostly because it could like, instantly kill that one forge boss and the raid boss. Edit: Izanagi’s is strong but overrated as hell. You’ve got loads of options for exotics.

14 RepliesToo bad the Sleeper catalyst is locked behind a prestige raid lair that only a tiny fraction of players will ever complete. - and there's only a CHANCE for it to drop.

Bungie isn’t going to change the pve meta for a while. Maybe forever

4 RepliesEdited by DeathPony07: 2/10/2020 6:40:28 PMTake the -blam!-ing catalyst out of the raid lair, and put it into the EP chests. Where it should have been from the beginning. Same with Telesto.

1 ReplyYes. So many exotics collecting dust. And so many more useless (bastion). Majority are situational (except terrabah, legendary masquerading as an exotic. But they all kill. Sleeper is still good it just doesn’t melt as fast AND no more reloading Luna well took this melting ability down to normal Just requires higher skill. Izanagi. Again requires skill unless accompanied by divinity. But still situational. I still play nightfalls without iza or divinity. Just takes team coordination. These aren’t god melting. Just high damage. I’d rather have weaker single weapons than power creep and massive nerfs every season. Remember mountaintop for every raid boss? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

6 RepliesSleeper is terrible right now. If you have 1k voices it works better and leviathans breath is better.

I’d make a comment about Croyd Crenson, but nobody would get it. also, free snotman! / (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

1 Replyi love the sleeper its nice with the catalyst if you have the time and the ep weapons to complete it( its ridiculous amount of work) it could deff use a damage buff but we are in a good meta for linears. with the enhanced rifle loaders + enhanced linear fusion rifle targeting from this artifact. its a good time to use it plus linear fusion ammo is only 3 energy so you can get 13 shots with 2 ammo perks . i run the sleeper with high energy fire mod and a the mod that stacks charged with light on orb pickup and it shreds since you get the +15% damage from high energy fire its easy to stack and it stacks with divinity so it completely melts

2 RepliesXenophage is the new Sleeper.

56 RepliesEdited by DampishMids: 2/10/2020 7:19:58 PMSleeper deserved it. That weapon was broken. Maybe if all you bums werent so happy to cheese at the same time you could have nice things. Sleeper could bodyshot an overshielded opponent. That is extremely broken.

Gambit.

I want sleeper to be what it’s supposed to be: loooong charge time, insane damage. Not medium charge, okay damage.
-
Got nerfed so much for no reason. The Opulence nerf killed it for me.
-
2 RepliesI preferred the way it worked in D1. One beam that I didn't have to take college geometry to get the ricochets right.
-
1 ReplyI would love to see Sleeper viable again.

1 ReplyIts a 'collections' game according to Luke Smith. Nowhere did he say you would actually use whats in your collection.

I use sleeper all the time. I'm not a fan of sniping. It's my favorite heavy weapon.

Sleeper will still One-shot body supers in PvP. 😎 Complaining about metas being restrictive is pointless because even if the meta changes to be Sleeper, then people will just not use anything up Sleeper then. People will always gravitate to what is the Most Effective Tactic Avaliable.

4 RepliesEdited by TJ_Dot: 2/10/2020 12:38:07 AMRemoving auto-reload was a mistake. You could call from a mile away that Izanagi would easily take over. It actually wants to reload. Everything else could only compete when they didn't. It accomplished nothing in the grand scheme because everything still gets shredded, just by fewer things.

The Sleeper even through its D2 nerfs has always been a top tier exotic.
