These are the reasons why I play PVP in Destiny
- A quest forces me there in order to get a piece of desired gear.
That's it. I perform terribly. I have no interest in getting better. It is nothing but a frustration to play that burns me out of playing Destiny 2 more than every other flaw in this game combined.
I'm literally only there because a quest steps says "Get x amount of x kills in Crucible."
Why? I'm a determent to any team that has me. I most certainly don't want to be there. I'm tilted pretty much every match. I'm not having a good time, and I'm just dragging people around me down.
If you have exotics that you intend to be used in PvP. Make ALL their quests steps PvP orientated and/or flag it as a an intended Crucible weapon. If you intend on having weapons being used outside of Crucible, quit putting quest steps inside of it. It's a practice of extorting players to populate modes they don't enjoy simply because you need bodies there.
Some of us just don't want to play it, and you're punishing us for not wanting to by keeping highly desired pieces out of reach if we don't.
It's just not enjoyable, as someone in who Destiny 2 is their first KB&M shooter to jump into crucible and face *insert meta hand cannon/Shotgun/Recluse here* when your quest says "Oh, yeah, go into Crucible with a (Void for Thorn) Hand Cannon and get multiple head-shots!"
You're expecting me to compete against people who make it their only hobby to play this game, already behind in both skill and experience, and expect to do something HARDER than they are doing with a weapon that would be non-optimal in a balanced circumstance, against the like of weapons that allow them to kill me in 2-3 shots.
It's not effort that's being tested at that point. It's tolerance.
I'm sorry but somethings wrong here and I don't have an easy solution for you aside from a full separation of weapons into PvP and PvE categories - which very well may have to be your solution because Crucible balance is horrid.
The solution here for me is to play another game, but that does not help you, Bungie. That just leaves you with another bitter unsatisfied customer that will remember that bitterness the next go around and will look for this particular issue to be resolved before buying into the next expansion or season pass.
Please, take some serious time soul-searching what you want Crucible to be in your next iteration. Keep your quested exotics clearly defined to be in or out of Crucible entirely. Because it's not fun at all for us, and pulling us away from things we enjoy just to satisfy some arbitrary goalpost you created without following through to make it enjoyable or balanced is just souring the whole deal.
