Some afk at worst but for most it goes like this. Lose the first round? Well we better lose the second too because I'm not playing 3 rounds when I need 40 matches. So we throw the game... Bad foresight on this one Bungo. Hell I might just go for pure kills and never pick up a mote or worry about the bosses and once I'm done all the auto shit I will be able to have a dance party for the remaining 10-20 matches.

Every single match to get to 40bwent the distance. EVERY....SINGLE....MATCH!!!

I just kill stuff and try to farm exotics. I had enough of trying while i was getting my malfeasane. Took me 50 matches to get 10 wins. Bungie doesn't take gambit serious so why should i? If they took it serious they would start nerfing invaders instead of nerfing the weapons they use. Giving a player god mode with wall hacks and all, every 20 seconds is a joke. Until they rethink the whole invader thing, they will have to keep tying the best weapons in the game to gambit to get people to play it.
-
I got the gun and tried my best every round of every match. I even had some fun, and got a four stack to break up after beating them multiple times in a row. People need to stop blaming other people for their bad attitude/behavior.

1 ReplyIf you dont enjoy playing the game enough that you afk for the quest, the auto rifle isnt going to help you enjoy it anymore.

Unfortunately, this was only to be expected. Although Bungo could’ve alleviated this situation by makin’ the 40 matches account bound. Then people would at least be able to switch characters, go for alt bounties, and switch things up when playin’ a class got boring. But unfortunately, Bungo’s forgotten how to make quest account bound these days.

Edited by Jonnnys: 12/4/2018 1:08:10 AMI’m going to do this quest after reset, I won’t be collecting motes and like you say who cares if we win, as long as it’s only 2 rounds I’ll be happy. If they completely removed the catch up mechanics I might enjoy it and actually play.

For me, it goes: •Steamroll the first match, where everyone is a rando with no team (my loadout is what gets me this, it’s so synergetic it’s almost as if Skullfort was made for CoTM.) •The second match, I either get a pretty even win or loss the first round, the second round evens the score, and then the third round is make or break. •If I lose the second match, it’s back to randos and the rare two-stack. •If I win the second match, I’m with either random or a two-stack, and the enemy team is almost always a three or four-stack. Rarely will I be with a three stack on my team. •If I manage to win that match, one of two things happens: 1) I get put into a match where the enemy team is a guaranteed full Fireteam, or 2) I go back to randos. It can get pretty sweaty at times, but it’s mostly laid back for the first two, sometimes three matches. Then my load out comes into play, and the specific play style, I may make a post about that later on, or not. One or the other, I guess.

I do not afk. I emote in the corner.

At this point I'd rather dance in spawn then play with other people in this shit. If they invade they get instakilled without killing anyone Everytime so I have to do it and they can't even kill envoys before I'm back from acing enemy team. Bunch of -blam!-ing shitlords. If my teams throw really hard on the first match then I will always throw the second because I'm not going to try my best for people to -blam!- up
-
I don’t care if people throw as long as they are in a team of four who know what is up. I had a team of 4, we went for kills and progress on cats without bothering about motes. Had fun got my gun and now I’m grinding out strikes with the same, kills and cats.

3 RepliesMy favorite thing is how absolutely toxic children are anymore. My question is to anyone that gets angry when they get outplayed because someone is simply better than them; why? Because Gambit nets me a -blam!-ton of hatemail, and I don’t actually understand it. I try not to use cheap weapons because that shit bores me, and it still sets people off. Should we, as good players, just use only sword hilts so they don’t throw their fits? Or would they just absolutely explode if when they inevitably get hilted to death?

Bounties too... gotta get my 15 motes, loses 15 motes... gotta get my 15 motes, loses 15 motes. Gambit is all about fireteams now where they are organized to win while they compete against the randoms who are lack luster and have personal agendas. Gambit period favors groups and guarantees (highly likely) solo player a lose. Adding bounties and quests just makes the above even worse.
-
there really is no good solution, having completed matches as the requirement causes people to not care, but if they make it to where wins are required, then solo's will complain about nothing but try hard teams taking over gambit more so then they already are. i guess they could of left either of those requirements out and just made it about gun kills, but then people wouldn't play the objective and instead would be fighting over kills.
-
5 RepliesIt's great for people on the malfeasance quest who need guardian kills and 4man wipes. ;) Also once again, the community whines and complains the curcible pinnacle guns were "too hard" to complete. Bungie gives you an easy go on these new ones and guess what.. the community complains. Just goes to show this community will bitch about anything Bungie does at this point.
-
yep, you get total trash who post ads like this!! https://www.bungie.net/en/ClanV2/PublicFireteam?groupId=0&fireteamId=7038176 How sad are people. Just play the game and have fun!
-
I tried for the first 20 games, but as a solo, I saw too many morons and afk. Now I try the first round. If we win, I'll try, otherwise no. I had several three round games going to time. Almost 45 minutes for one match. A better way would be 40 points needed. One point for a loss, two for a win. This encourages trying, without punishing solos who inevitably will get long loss streaks.
-
9 RepliesYeah it's a shame. They should have made it 40 wins instead of completions. It's a pinnacle weapon so it should be a hard quest.

Reeeeeeeeeeee

I got my shards of galanor by AFKing a gambit match. it was glorious
-
The breakneck is well worth the grind....most fun I’ve had with a auto in ages! I’ve completed a lot of activities/quests in gambit and I still contribute , it’s extremely sad that people choose to not do anything and ruin other peoples experience 👎

I don't care about auto rifles in this game. I'll use redrix go slay pve enemies. Gambit is not a good games mode in my opinion

6 RepliesEdited by ChadsGotaPewPew: 12/3/2018 7:36:59 PMIm convince bungie doesn't play test or give much thought to pretty much everything in Destiny. 1 game of gambit: Auto kills 50 Auto Multi kills 10 Challenging enemies 12 Match completed 1 Auto kills finished in 10 games Auto Multi Kills finished in 10 games Challenging enemies finished in 12.5 games MATCHES COMPLETED TAKES 40 F'N GAMES!!!!!!! On top of that the quest does not force people to play the actual game. All you need to do is get your kills in the first 10-15 games then go AFK with no effort for the remaining 25-30 games.... What moron wrote up this quest line and then what moron thought it was a good idea and approved it? The decision making is absolutely mind blowing. If you are going to design a quest line that involves playing with others, you should IDK, have quest steps that require playing with others? BTW I played the 40 got breakneck and won enough meatballs to get Dredgen completed. But I also saw a lot of AFKers and teammates that didnt give 2 Shifts about winning or contributing at all. Totally makes gambit nauseating to play without a 4 stack. Good job Bungo!

I'm just playing the way I normally do. Try to play the objective, get kills and motes. I'm chuffed just now as I got the Primeval Prime emblem at the end of my last gambit match. I always run solo so play with whoever matchmaking teams me with.

Edited by CDT DYLAN M: 12/3/2018 11:22:02 PMGot it a few days ago and still haven't seen anyone throwing. I've only seen people give up on a round if my team just buried them, which isn't too often. When they gave up was when we got our primeval when they had maybe 10-20, usually because our invader would wipe them before they banked most of their motes. But then they wait for our primeval and would keep invading us, trying to ketch up when we couldn't hurt them. Though I've seen some lfg posts requesting a team to throw with.
-
I joined a fire team like this, we just helped each other get half banked or invasion triumphs. It’s not like the other team would really mind picking up an easy win
