TO THOSE WHO ARE JUST ASSHOLES: Kindly -blam!- off
Byf had posted this video a few days ago, and dear god it shocked me.
I heavily recommend you watch the video and give Byf some comfort.
The man thinks he’s a failure, when it could be the furthest thing from the truth.
I don’t know why I’m posting this, but I sure as hell know that I don’t want my man Byf to go on :(

13 Replies"Sour grapes will turn to whine, it's all just vinegar in time". Welcome to the human condition, get over it. Or don't, ultimately that's your choice. Either way the sun is going to rise in the East tomorrow morning with or without you. So get over it, or don't. Your decision.

4 RepliesHes making a living talking about something he has a passion for. Thats a life-win in my book.

4 RepliesHe is a loser

What pisses me off the most is that a guy like him, who has done a lot for this community gets a generic copy and paste bullshit from ninjas and bungie as they always do. Makes me wonder do these people actually care? Or do they simply vomit up a reply based on the hashtag you put in. Byf doesnt deserve this, he is literally the only content creator with unique content out there, him and aztecross. The rest are all copy and paste bullshit content creators same shit different channel. Poor guy. Hope he recovers from this.
-
1 ReplyI hope he gets better I love the guy’s work but his health is more important.
-
Byf, you were always giving your all into making YT vids to help the fan base understand the complicated universe. I, we, all of us love you, man. Don’t pass on.

Just finish watching the video and I have to say that his really hard on himself and sets up pretty high standards as well. He shouldn’t blame himself at all. His content is great and lore is just putting pieces of a puzzle together with Destiny. He shouldnt think a moment that it’s his fault and his work is not subpar at all but great. At least he admits his having a bad period of time in his life and I hope he has friends who reach out to him and cheer him up.

13 RepliesWow there are some insensitive asshats in this community......oh right, it’s Bungie’s Forums

1 ReplyI have much respect for byf and mielyn games both great lore makers and contributors. Watched half of the video then turned it off I felt like I was spectating on a sensitive issues and it made me feel uncomfortable. As an individual that faces many issues relating to mental health, life is hard sometimes, but strength as to come from within in my case anyway. I wish him all the best and to reinforce that what he does for destiny is appreciated and in my case well received. Peace and love 💕

1 ReplyThis forum is a cesspool. I’ve never seen such a bunch of arrogant stuck up cold people in my life. Have a little sympathy for people. Maybe one day you bunch of 12 year olds will grow up and come to care about your fellow human beings.

11 RepliesOk, some moderators really need to step in here on this thread, its starting to get out of hand even for these forums. I've seen some pretty toxic stuff on here but this thread takes the cake by a landslide.

I've had severe depression and anxiety for over a decade. Also been diagnosed with epilepsy recently. Depression is messed up. When people are ignorant about it, and say "only pathetic people take their lives", it bothers me. The pain you feel when you're suicidal is like nothing you will ever feel. It's the worst feeling ever. Not enough people talk about it unfortunately, and a lot of people think its self inflicted, when many times it is not. Being through the whole depression, anxiety, and constant seizures has made life a living hell. But I keep on going. I guess I just try and stay positive all the time. It's too easy to say then to do though. Anyone who's suffering mentally, I understand. And it's not something to joke about. You never know when something terrible happens to you and then you have PTSD the rest of your lives.

Edited by Seraph: 10/13/2018 10:53:19 AMI like Byf, he's by far the Destiny content creator that I watch the most. As to hear about his 'issues'. As someone who's delt with depression for the better part of the last 15 or so years I'm deeply sympathetic to his plight. I hope things get better for him.

4 RepliesEdited by X_MachoMadness_X: 10/12/2018 10:56:58 PMI’ve been seeing a lot of posts on here saying stuff to the effect of, “Why would Byf be depressed? There’s no way he could be with all the stuff/money he gets and success he has.”, and I feel that I need to say this incase you genuinely don’t know. Depression is a mental condition that can completely warp your worldview to the point where things that would normally make you feel good, actually make you feel worse. Sometimes because you believe you don’t deserve it. For some evidence, why have we lost so many amazingly talented and successful musicians and actors over the years to depression fueled suicide? Shouldn’t they be the happiest out of all of us? When someone in a position of respect/power/or overwhelming success with depression, it can have the opposite effect on people that you think it would. Please Guardians, I beg you, please think about what weight your words may carry before you type them.

5 RepliesEdited by Bumblebee793: 10/12/2018 9:18:28 PMAll these people saying youtubers shouldn't be depressed. In my opinion they have just as much reason to be. Imagine going to work, but while doing it people criticize everything about you. Things from "your voice is like a dying cat" to "my hamster could make a better channel" every day from hundreds of completely random people. No wonder he would feel like a failure. Sometimes depression can come from past experiences from before being a youtuber. Yes they don't have financial issues but depression comes in many forms. I know what it's like to lose a loved one to depression and it's no joking matter.

1 ReplyIF someone is going through depression and is reaching out, then yes they are looking for attention because they need help and are pleaing for that help. It isn't a bad thing, it is a good thing. Far better they reach out, let us know how they feel and get help instead of wind up dead and nobody knows why until after the fact when help is no longer available. Why are we so hard on people with mental issues? If a person is a Diabetic, Asthmatic, Cancer patient we will tend to sympathize yet any mental issues and we pounce on them like rabid dogs and rip them apart. If we were all a little nicer to everyone instead of such hateful people, maybe the world would be a better place.

3 RepliesThis guy has some serious 1st world problems
-
No offence to byf but that's exactly why you don't soley focus on one thing. Also one has to have a certain amount of resilience to hate comments. He makes good content but he just needs to get a better defence up
-
11 RepliesIm sorry man but 1st world problems. I wish nothing bad for byf as i also love his content but society now is too damm spoiled. I grew up in a 3rd world country. Dirt poor. Saw my father and mother work their butts off to give us a better life. Depression is real but its also a trending thing and its part of this emotional culture now. I just dont buy into everything i see. 4 destiny youtubers have cried in their vids in the last 11 days.

I hope that the ignorant amongst never go through depression. For those dismissing another human being and even hoping he commits suicide you need more help than he does - the outright shame of you!

Edited by Art0rias26: 10/13/2018 9:51:12 AMIronically the people being so hardass and arrogant are the first people seeking attention when they have a problem, the source of attention may be different but thats not the point, a human being, another person is going through something quite serious , it costs nothing to show atleast an iota of humanity or if you dont agree or have any negative to add just leave it since its a touchy sensitive subject. He has a shit ton of subscribers and felt he had to share this info with them because he regards them as important enough to explain his situation, think about what massive part of his life was invested en his content and the sacrifices he made along the way to get where he was, in essence whether he was a prick or not everyone deserves compasion and who are we to judge. Throw your insults at my reply, please do me the favour so i can mute all the idiots and make my forum experience so much better. Edit: Im not saying he was a prick btw just to clear that up, just as an example for people who might say or think that.

Signs of possible mental illness, and admission of fantasies revolving around self-harm are not to be taken lightly, nor should they be mocked. Seek help, or encourage others in similar situations to do so.
-
Tip for forum users: Show some sympathy, depression isnt easy. Tip for Byf: Get help from your family bro, blastin that shit through the internet isnt gonna yueld any positive results
-
10 RepliesI don’t like byf, he’s an arrogant self righteous moron absorbed in his own hype. But I feel that way about all streamers and youtubers. They are terrible for this and every other game However, as a human being I have sympathy for what he’s going through. Many people, males especially suffer in silence for fear of ridicule about mental health. Because we’re men and we have to be tough! Far too often, mental health issues go unspoken about and untreated, what byf has done took a lot of courage and strength. Strength that shows he has it what it takes to keep fighting. I wish him all the best and hopes he follows through with getting the help he needs. And if making this video encourages others to speak up about their issues then all the better. It’s time for the opinion on mental health to change and accept that it’s ok not to be ok

I winced when I watched his video yesterday and I winced again when I saw this post because I knew how things were going to turn out. Social media is a savage, savage world.

1 ReplyWow..... some of the people here are heartless pricks
