This is one of the dumbest decisions I've seen in gaming. That was a fantastic feature. You had absolutely NO reason to remove it aside from the fact that you all were so desperate to make this game into Destiny 1 that you had the audacity to take steps backwards.
I want an answer. Immediately. I want to know exactly why this was removed. Because if this is the tip that you folks are on now (making the game worse because people are so ridiculously blind that they actually believe everything about D1 was good), then I really don't wanna stick around. So let me know now if this bullshit will continue so I can stop investing time into Destiny On-whoops, I mean Destiny Two. I think.
Next thing you know, you'll remove our ability to put shaders on weapons, ships, & sparrows. Then next you'll remove the Director and map feature. And lastly you'll just change the title of the game to "Destiny 1: Forsaken".

Boy, you sure did pick the most dramatic way possible to say, “Hey, I liked picking the element myself better”
-
You’re seriously overdramatizing this. It’s embarrassing.

13 RepliesThe reason? Mod changes. If you kept ability to use mods to switch elements, you would need an extra mod slot, which would require reworking every gun in the game and ridiculous amounts of time for the game to be offline while they update the database on every weapon for every player that has played the game. I know these things arent obvious for people without any programming experience, but sometimes your easy fixes are actually massive challenges.

3 RepliesFor variety and harder decision making, making certain weapons more valuable then those 3 you use for everything with a little element swap to match the burn etc? Tbf it was getting a little stale They’ve done so much more to out weigh something like a lack of element choice on weapons.
-
not that serious guy , and they said they were changing it before the dlc dropped.
-
Bungie did state that they'd remove the element mods for a new mod system. Which is so much better than the old one. Although, it's strange that randomized weapons don't have the element random too 🤔

1 ReplyGet a grip. Ya melt.

1 Replyposts like this are why we can't have nice things.

1 ReplyBecause Edge Transit...

we cant have nice things
-
I agree. Idk why it was removed; I thought it was one of the few things D2 got right from D1.
-
Right. That was one of my favorite things about D2 over D1.
-
I like it, all weapons have a fixed element now which is now part of the identity of the weapon
-
2 Repliesjust dont delete the yr1 weapons. spend the stuff to bring them up. or did you listen to a streamer and delete all your stuff?
-
5 RepliesJust move on from this cesspool, bungie loves their streamers that hype up this worthless trash more than their paying normies and they will always have more influence than that of the paying customer, remember escalation protocol? I say the two deserve each other let the streamers buy their shitty games after the raid I was done.

3 RepliesHey man... calm down. It is literally just a game.
-
4 RepliesI'd hate to see your post after mom put the cheese you didnt like on your sandwich.
-
Tldr Stop crying
-
4 RepliesSo that you wouldn't have 3 Positive Outlooks and 3 Curtain Calls with each element equipped for every encounter. That's why. They did it to promote diversity in guns. If not, I'd have 3 Badlanders equipped right now. LoL

Tractor cannon stacking

6 RepliesPssst. They made it free to apply shaders.
-
3 RepliesBecause you only need one weapon now and it doesn't matter what element it is, Edge Transit
-
Agree. It was the best feature of the base game. Really dumb that they took it out.
-
You want answer? Entitled much?

My Answer:
Git gud
4 RepliesIt does suck. I agree. The thing is, random rolls are now a thing, again. Meaning that those god roll weapons that were in D1 can in fact be out-done by others, and any weapon has the potential to be at least decent. Taking this into consideration, find a weapon with an element you want, find out where it drops, and grind for a good roll.
