This is how it should be.
Edit: Just to be clear, I haven’t yet had a Forsaken exotic drop.

I've had 3 exotics drop in my many hours since Forsaken dropped. 1. Coldheart 2. Claws of Ahamkara 3. Coldheart C'mon! I'm fine with them being rare, but please no duplicates!
-
So none is fine. Very cool. I also heard the best way to play the game is not to play!

This is how it should be. Edit: Just to be clear, I haven’t yet had a Forsaken exotic drop.
I haven't gotten a single exotic drop since the DLC drop, I've been playing every day since 12am when it dropped.

Edited by Sir.Cabbage: 9/12/2018 1:06:08 AMah, so you are one of the people who unlike me has not been grinding all week and only gotten shinobus vow? which btw i have gotten about 10000000000 times before.
-
Tbh. I did not get a single exotic drop until Sunday. But then I received 5 in one day. I guess it all evens out in the end.
-
I mean I have gotten 3 exotics so far, but to bad they are all repeats. Bungie really needs to do something with exotics.
-
I disagree. What it was when D2 dropped was ridiculous. If you turned in 5 powerful engrams, you’d get 2-3 exotics. Even though most were awful or duplicates, it was still too many. Now, there’s none. It’s the opposite end of the spectrum. And that’s no good either. Bungie should find a happy place for this. There seems to be a lot of powerful engrams you can earn. In year 1, powerful engrams gave you a weapon and an armor piece. That’s stopped, you get just one item. So even though they have more places to get PEs, it probably evens out it the end. That said, there should be a 5-10% chance for an exotic and that doesn’t seems to be the case. Also, what’s the point of public events now? That exotic chance in Y1 made them worthwhile when you still had exotics to chase but now? Not so much. For XP, glimmer, and materials? Doesn’t seems like a good incentive to me. Maybe they should have a chance at a masterwork core.

2 RepliesI would be fine with the rates if the exotics were so much stronger than their worth
-
I dont have a problem with exotic drop rates. But when the rates are as low as they are right now, and most people end up getting a duplicate, thats where the problem is.

14 RepliesEdited by DeadTopher: 9/11/2018 5:54:17 PMyou do know there are 20 exotics total (not including the 4 with quest chains) to earn in 3 months? 60+ hours for 1 would be well over 1000 hours to earn all not including any duplicates or need to reacquire old armor for the new perk system. Just how long do you intend to grind for? Look, the old way was to fast, this is to slow. I think we can find a middle ground.
-
If destiny 3 released with this drop rate I'm all for it but they released a dlc with these drop rates meaning new players are at a huge disadvantage to those who played before the update which is stupidity in itself for bungie to kill any potential business to be made with new players. I've played since its release but can't convince most of my friends to play and this is the last nail in the coffin.

2 RepliesThey'd be fine if there was an actually working smart loot system. I've gotten 3 exotic drops since launch, Graviton Lance, DARCI, and Merciless. The fact that the new exotics have to compete with a larger group of older exotics makes the drops less appealing. So smart loot = low drop rate Dumb loot = high drop rate
-
My only complaint with this is random rolls. What are the odds of getting a suitable random roll on an exotic when exotics are so rare that you're lucky to see one a week. There needs to be a way to reroll perks on exotics, albeit a somewhat expensive means, that can somewhat help mitigate the extremely low odds of getting a good roll on an item that seemingly has less than a 1% drop rate. Add in the fact that your exotic has to compete with dozens of others when you do get an exotic drop and the odds of getting the one you want with the perks that work for your build are somewhere in the astronomical range. >.<
-
I am enjoying the drop rates cause it brings meaning again to grinding for exotics. A meaning we haven’t had for a long time, and that’s just my opinion. Which is as relevant as everyone’s opinions.
-
my son and i had not seen a single drop since forsaken began and after today patch we each got 2. I got a high power stag infused and i got two tailed fox. he got some boots forget which and queen breakers bow and we both got the energy bow Arsenic bite-4b.
-
I think they should tie every exotic into a quest with a static roll and then also have rng drops with random rolls. That way if you really want/require a certain exotic you can at least obtain a base version by putting in the time
-
Lol yep like D1 back in year one. Ahhh at least there's no Ghorn so you can't go a hole year without getting the must have exotic weapon to drop. RIP me and ice breaker.
-
Well there's really nothing in them so yeah, they are fine.
-
6 RepliesI am just waiting for the wave of ‘You must have xxxxxxxx for this raid’ and the poor players who put in hundreds of hours worth of work and still can’t get xxxxxxxx to drop. Especially if you need to do the raid to get xxxxxxxx.
-
1 ReplyI currently have found only two Exotics. I got myself a knucklehead radar and the prospector. I'm currently enjoying the grind. I'm just trying to find a way to break over 500 light.
-
I just got the Lord of Wolves today after completing one of Spider's Wanted Bounties. Never liked that weapon during D1 Year 1 but I'll try it out probably tomorrow and see what i think.
-
You people say this now but we’ll see in a couple months.
-
i had one yesterday from a red bar taken and it turned into a jade rabbit so a duplicate rip
-
5 RepliesI disagree. Too rare. I haven't received one exotic since the release.
-
1 Replyi haven't gotten 1 exotic drop all week. didn't even visit Xur. no fux given.
bows are great!
-
Lower duplicate rates and make some of them worth getting. Warlocks only have like 2 exotics that are worth getting. That's the only class I play honestly.
