Anyone else just want D2 to be good?
I used to be super mad about everything but now I just feel kinda sad and I just want D2 to be good. Anyone else on the same page? Sorry for the low quality post I guess.
Edit: Obligatory generic edit referring to popularity. Really glad that the vast majority seems to agree with this sentiment though, judging by the forums I thought I was in the minority. Although I guess I should really know better by now lol

D1 is still my favorite game of all time and I was so excited for more stuff like Age of Triumph in d2 but I just don’t enjoy playing the game. I really hope they eventually change it enough to be as enjoyable as d1 because I want to love the franchise as much as the first one.

4 RepliesI think everyone in the community wants Destiny 2 to be good. The problem is that most of us can’t agree on how to fix the bloody game. For the most part I thought Destiny 2 was a very good game, at least for a while. After you’ve logged in a certain amount of time ( especially on 3 characters, or in my case 5 ), a certain amount of over-familiarity kicks in both in regards to the things you end up doing [u]and[/u] also the rewards that you’d receive for doing ‘x’ activity. So I came to the conclusion that Destiny 2’s End Game was broken. For me, an obvious problem was that all the ‘loot’ in the game was boring so there was nothing to chase. And then there was issue of duplicate loot drops, by removing random rolls, Bungie drastically decreased the available loot pool ( and we’ve already established that all the loot is already boring ), so after a while you stop giving a shit about loot drops because there is 90% chance you’ll just get something you already have. I also wanted a reason to do a lot of Destiny 2’s activities. A lot of people bitched and complained that Destiny 2 didn’t have any content, I’ve always disputed this. Vanilla Destiny 2 has more content than Vanilla Destiny 1, and Vanilla Destiny 2 + DLC 1 has more content than Vanilla Destiny 1 + DLC1. The problem however is that almost all of Destiny 2 content is disposable, you do it once and there is no need to ever do it again. I want Bungie to spend more time thinking about how to make content replayable, how are they going to incentivize players to redo things like Campaign missions, Adventures, Lost Sectors and Strikes.

So god damn bad. Please, let the warmind dlc actually be good and have new exciting shit like a new enemy race, and new subclasses maybe even a new class all together. Warmind is bungies last chance to save destiny from death, so they might as well go big or go home.

1 ReplyThere are better and much less expensive games on the market, like The Division or Warframe. Gameplay and lore (D1) are superior to those games but Destiny 2 has no endgame and zero depht. Theres no reason to keep coming back. PVP maybe, but its bad right now IMO.

Man, just throw all of the D1 strikes in there, All of the D1 crucible maps, All of the D1 weapons, and All of the great handcannons...for a start. D2 should be 'on top of' not 'instead of" D1 - that was the biggest mistake.

Of all the games I've played, all the games I own, for all of Destiny's flaws, it it the one I always come back to. I can't for sure say why, maybe it really is just habit, but this is the game I got a console specifically to play. This is the game I have followed closely for years, and wished that more people liked it the way I did. I wished it had the kind of pop culture presence it was intended to, that it's story could be delivered in a way that would draw the kind of attention as Bungie's previous titans. I want to keep learning more about the lore. I want the game to have a powerful storyline that dives into the rich background that has always been hinted at. I want to see those hooks and threads followed. I want to fight off Savathun, discover the origin of the Vex, confront the Ahamkara, and learn the true nature of the Darkness. I want to see what those mysterious ships outside the galaxy are, how the Exos were made, how the collapse happened. I want to learn where the Traveller comes from, why it woke up now. I still enjoy the gameplay, but I would never hesitate to ask for it to be even better. I want to feel powerful, I want to feel like a legend, because that's why we play this game. I would love to have back the customizable build and faster abilities of D1, as well as the more meaningful exotic armors. Maybe it's just a pipe dream. Maybe it's just a delusion fueled by overhyped advertising and empty promises. But I don't just want Destiny to be good. I want it to be [i]great.[/i]

2 RepliesI like the whole idea of destiny. Good graphics, gunplay feels fluid, interesting enemies and lore. During D1 I was a daily player, if only for an hour or two. A way to relax and jump into a world to do what I wanted to do, not what I had to do in everyday life. The problem with D2 for me is I've run out of things I want to do. And it's not to say I've done everything there is to do in D2, just not interested enough to do all of it. It has lost it's daily draw for me and I find I'm only hopping on for 4-5 hours at most a week. The carrot on the end of the stick has become a potato, slow and interesting to the point of boring. Need a reason to chase something, and not just loot. Need a story drivin reason.

Edited by Syntex UK: 4/20/2018 12:03:24 AMwhat they need to do with this game is start to focus on pve instead of pvp all the time, every time a new vid comes out or when there dev team has interviews its always about pvp, when the bulk of the player base is pve. what does anoy me the most is when the pvp dev team starts talking about pve, there focus is pvp so why the hell are they involving them selfs in pve development. i know alot of people have said this, but it really needs to happen, pve & pvp need to be separated from each other or just get rid of pvp and focus on the pve side of destiny and give us the players, fans the universe and adventures you bungie + activison promised when destiny was first anounced all those years ago. they need to get rid of that stupied eververse crap. every legendary, exotic cosmetic is lock behind that -blam!-ing pay wall, there are no activitys to earn any of them at all, talk about taking the piss. ive been playing this game since launch and ever since the new dlc came out ive not gotten one of the new exotic ships, now thats what i call a -blam!-ing joke.

1 ReplyI think the main issue is lack of content. We’re all bored, so we complain. Some of the changes Bungie made are just awful in my opinion, but I can adapt to change. What I refuse to adapt to, or even be okay with, is the fact that we were supposed to get a 10-year game where we never lost our weapons, armor, cosmetics, and progress. Yeah, imagine that game. Instead of starting over, D1 was just continuously made better for another 6-7 years. Instead, we were lied to. “We need to upgrade the tools we use, so we’re completely blowing everything up and starting over in D2.” In reality, they took everything away just to sell it back to us. Their tools are no better, as evidenced by how long it takes them to make content and fix bugs. This will happen again, because D3 will be made and Bungie will blow D2 up in order to sell us everything again. It’s in their contract with Activision. It’s just business, and the consumer loses.

What I'ma do is try out the exotics after the update, check out the eververse items (knowing that system hasn't changed), and uninstall the game until the fal.....November. I'll get the dlcs when it's a package deal with TTk2.
