Fallout 4 or New Vegas?
Personally I'm enjoying New Vegas a bit more than FO4 now that it's backwards compatible for the Xbone.

I've had Fallout 4 since its initial release and I've completed around 30% but with New Vegas I can't count how many times I beat it and played through again. I absolutely love New Vegas and I wish they would upgrade it to the newer consoles

For the story I would say NV. In my opinion it is the best one out of the modern Fallout games.

6 Replies4 is much more modern, supported better, and lots more to do. People that said NV are the example I would point to when it comes to overhyping games that didn't age well, based purely on nostalgia. You could argue that NV was better [u]for its time[/u] (I would argue that it wasn't even), but it's not that time period. Game didn't age well.

40 RepliesTo the people who say new Vegas, and I do like nv, but I say 4 all the way, why do you prefer NV? There is far more to do in fo4. Easily. The areas inbetween locations in NV is totally barren 90% of the time. The controls in 4 were such an improvement. The only downside is the speech system which I don't even mind at all. But some dislike how the options don't convey exactly what you'll be saying all the time. Which shouldn't be an issue to people. Bottom option is to proceed, right one is to be an ass, left one is to elaborate, top is to ask for clarification. On almost every single speech instance. I swear most people who say NV is better just say it to sound like a hipster.

1 ReplyNew Vegas was more enjoyable. Sucked you in. Easy to understand. 4 is good but they tried to do too much too fast. It's a bit cluttered and doesn't have the flow. Very optimistic for the next Fallout game. With what they learn from this one it should be great

The gunplay and graphics are better for fallout 4 but everything else is new vegas

I have 800 ish hours on NV compared to 4's 70.

If that game hadn't completely broken down on my ps3 I would have finished it too...So many good side quests and a great atmostphere, better dlc, plus the deathclaws were were scary as hell in that game. At least I thought so.

3 RepliesI dont really know. On other notes... People who say deathclaws are easy are obviously talking about in 4. Because they are really easy to kill. Like [b][i]Really[/i][/b] easy.

With Fallout 4 Bethesda has completely forgotten the most important part of an RPG. That being, the role play aspect. There games have always suffered from a lack of freedom in what you're able to do with your character. None of your choices ever matter, you can never be evil, and you're always the chosen one. The only "role playing" in the game is how your character fights basically. You can't talk your way out of any fight, and the ones you can are extremely scripted. Obsidian are simply better RPG developers, having people who made the originals and having experience. Bethesda simply likes to make action games, much to the woe of long time fans of the Fallout franchise.

I hate Fo4 just because it's a terrible RPG so many mechanics dumbed down or outright removed.

I'm going to have to give it to Fallout 4. I suffered from Benny syndrome in New Vegas. Once i'd killed him I just didn't care any more, i've never finished the game despite having 450 hours in it. The only thing I enjoy about New Vegas are a couple of the DLC and the mods. Fallout 4 is a better version of Fallout 3 to me and I loved Fallout 3 so i'm loving Fallout 4.

I've had some pretty bad experiences with NV. I unfortunately had a used disk that was scratched. So I experienced glitches so hard that my game would crash and I would have to turn my Xbox 360 off and back on again.
