Stormtrance - the worst super in the game by far.

Pretty underwhelming in PvE but in the Crucible, guaranteed to get you killed because you're not doing much damage and you're a fluttering duck, easy picking for any enemy nearby. This subclass does have one of the best grenades and melees in the game but the super just blows. Really, really, really blows. I've leveled all three classes and give the best supers to Titans by far. Hunter supers are fair at best and, if not for this Stormtrance dog of a super, Warlocks with their Nova Bombs and Radiance would be pretty close to Titans. I expect the Hammer of Sol to get a nerf at some point but come on Bungie, while you're at it, figure out a way to buff up the Stormtrance and make it actually useful at something other than making you so much easier to kill.

    • Cleared a whole room with a single super...... it was control..... I was near death.... Stormtrance isn't even fully upgraded. Worst? I think not.

    • As a warlock main, I'd have to disagree. Now if you're not smart with it and activate it out in the open, you are probably gonna die. But in enclosed spaces, its damn near unstoppable (supers are basically the only effective counter against a good stormcaller). With the massive range boost on the enhanced chaining perk, multiple enemy's go down quick, which really limits the ability to focus fire against this super. And if don't just rush towards the enemy, and stay out of shotgun range, but inside its arc range, no one will touch you. In terms of mobility, it does feel a little weak, which I think is really just a byproduct of warlocks terrible jump in general. But any sort of speed/movement boost would make stromtrance incredibly over powered. Ionic blink (or what ever the perk is called, don't use it personally) greatly enhances the lackluster mobility of this super but you have to sacrifice extended chaining, and I feel that's a good balance point. Admittedly it is a rather situational super, but it straight up wrecks in [i]a lot[/i] of situations. Just like in pve, you'll see more of a benefit against larger groups. So for Trials, skirmish, or really any 3v3 matches, its less effective then nova for shut down or radiance for its damage resistance/clutch self rez plays. But in 6v6 like clash or control, you can generally score 3-4 kills easy at the right moment. Overall I'd say it's a very [i]balanced[/i] super. Tl;Dr Like most things in this game, its situational. Using it smart will yield easy kills. Being an idiot or panic supering equals your face getting wrecked.

    • It's awesome.. And super easy to use,just time It well when enemies are close and some will die from landfall and the rest will get wiped out in an instant. If someone sees you down range you are screwed but that applies to most mobile supers.

    • Whatever. I cackle with mad Palpatine-esque glee when I pop a Stormtrance. It may not be as "effective" by some definition, but it does pass the "is it fun?" test with flying colors.

          • As a Warlock who has mastered the void and the solar and now working on mastering the power of the stormtrance..... I say you are full of bullshit. When using the super I wipe out waves of enemies both PvE and PvP

          • Dude, stormtrance is OP in PvE. I main a warlock, and not even sunbreakers claim to have better ad clearing. I mean, storm trance can last for 20-30 seconds with transcendence, and it [i][u]chains lightning to nearby enemies[/u][/i].             • I've seen storm trance get a 8 multi kill. 7 multi is a 7th column. They don't have a name or metal for 8. That feat alone means storm trance is op. I've only seen Sun breakers get up to 5 before their super is out.

              • You can't be serious? Storm is by far the best ad clearer in PvE and in pvp it lasts forever. I am always designated clearer on Warpriest center because of the Taken spawn and on Golo, also for Taken. In pvp I just cruise around the map killing everyone, some people twice. The super is great, just have to use it properly.

              • Uhhh you know yiu like have to press a button to hit people with it right? Cause I have no problems clearing out whole rooms of adds and in PvP it's far better than most supers aside from titan except you don't really even need to be good at aiming. No idea what your talking abiut but, I assume this was supposed to be #satire.

              • I'm not even good at PvP and I get easy kills from it...like, lots of them. It's def better in certain modes, though, like control and salvage.
