Who's not going to beat Moments of Triumph ? It's because of Skolas isn't it.

I'm not a huge fan of Prison of Elders, the time investment is too much for mostly crummy rewards.
When Moments of Triumph was released I was a bit wary of Skolas but thought I'd give it a go. I'd completed up to and including 34 so I was okay with the mechanics, but I knew the time investment would be large.
I made it to Skills in about 2-3 hrs...not bad I don't think. After a couple of hours trying to learn the mechanics and down him (and get a bit lucky) I had had enough.
Without checkpoints I've had to walk away, I gave the checkpoint out on the Forum. I have a wife and two kids, I can rarely find 6 hrs to spend playing Destiny.
So to those who have killed Skolas (after the burns were removed) well done to you and I salute you. You thoroughly deserve your emblem, hopefully Bungie with do a 'silver' for those of us that missed just one thing.
Cannot wait for year two.

Edit - Thanks for all the support guys and the offers of help. I have has some advice that makes me think going in as a hunter or a warlock may be a better idea. Who knows I may give it another shot.
Edit 2 - extra question, is it possible to clear enough of the ads, before the mines to make the mines a formality or do ads spawn at the same time as mines.
Edit 3 - I'm on PS4 thanks for all the help offers.

You can do it man me and my friends clocked him at an hour 20 before all rounds. Just always always always kill all ads before you start any next phase of skolas's health

Yesterday took a couple buddies who have never done it before and it took us an hour and a half total and only wiped twice. Skolas is not difficult and this week is good cause its catapult and angry, no lightswitch. Running Skolas with no burns is not that difficult. I still run it cause i wanted the Wolves leash with the void burn and all i keep getting is a Solar burn leash.

1 ReplyI totally understand. I also have a wife and two kiddos. I tried once on a Sunday afternoon when we didn't have anything going on and had to give up after close to 5 hours. Then on last Friday night on my second attempt we got it! It takes patience and communication. Make sure your team is made of people you enjoy talking to and have fun. It's a great feeling when you finally pass it. I wish you the best of luck. Cheers guardian.

I did my first clear last night with two other guardians who hadn't done it. We took 40 mins to clear Skolas. We didn't wipe once. We took our time and made sure we were set for each phase of the fight. The most important thing was communication. Especially with passing the Taint around.

8 RepliesIt shouldn't take more than 90 minutes to do the whole thing. 2 hours if you have a problem with the cabal round. It's honestly harder than Skolas. (Except when it's lightswitch)

1 ReplyFor your edit 2, no unfortunately, the easiest way around this is to split 1:2 send the sneakiest or toughest across to mine opposite of A (who is poison immune) and have the two others stay at A, meet in the middle for The last one. If you can DPS skolas fast enough after the first round and kill him, all the adds will die and you can capture the second round of mines without interference

do skolas weekly three times 40 mins is around the norm we do upto the pilot servitor as two then get one more in dont lose faith find compatible folk to play with
