Blink itself has never been the true problem.
When Bungie decided to balance the Felwinter, through giving away clones to anyone, Blink Shotgunning became a problem.
Back in the day, when Autorifles still killed things in the Crucible and most people camped one way or another with their fusion rifles, blink was no problem.
(try using a fusion rifle while you Blink....)
Then the meta changed and Bungie reinforced Blink/Shotgunning through giving away copies of the Felwinter that you can reroll.
Suddenly, everybody had a shotgun sniper and Blink became much more effective.
I am not sure if TLW with the Hunter Quick draw perk was an answer to blink shotgunners, or if it started as its own OP thing, but the way I see it, is that Blink/Shotgunners made TLW much more popular, as only TLW offered a TTK fast enough to deal with charging Blinkers.
Overall, nerfing Blink after Bungie basically nerfs everything that complimented Blink (shotgun snipers, TLW, buffing AR), is the wrong thing to do.
It's simply an unnecessary overkill solution, if everything that made blink effective, will get changed anyhow.
Combined with the new subclases and a therefore even further changing meta, Blink has no business of getting nerfed.
Anyhow, if they want to nerf, plz nerf Lightning grenades as well.
The most OP grenade in the game, combined with the Armamentarium and a 100% discipline build, paired with the shoulder charge, make the Titan OP on every map with enough chokepoints.
And thus, I am all for nerfing lightning grenades, if they nerf Blink.
This isn't a troll post, by the way. I am of the opinion that most people don't understand the titan's zoning potential, simply because he has those grenades. No other grenade can compete with that damage and aoe.

1 ReplyYou don't even play as a Titan. Firebolt and Arcbolt are much better, and you can actually kill yourself if you throw a panic lightning grenade, unlike the Firebolt/Arcbolt.
-
seriously? do you even play titan? of course they are strong...but you need to land them perfectly..not like arcbolt.... why the sudden hate over titan?

Edited by Mr Legacy: 8/29/2015 3:58:13 PMBungie please nerf OP's bítchíng too overpowered

Then let's nerf arcbolt and firebolt grenade

9 RepliesEdited by Witful Templar: 8/29/2015 3:12:26 PMDude lol you are getting rekt by people also haven't checked your profile yet(but your main is probably a hunter) but you are probably one of those people that go "well I just sit in the area of affect that the grenade is in and die therefore it is op" well you see sir there are things on you controllers called sticks they allow you to move in any direction and get out of the aoe. Plus if you don't think blink *Insert Here* is op and the pros think it is then you oblvisioly have never played pvp. Try to make a reasonable argument back bet you can't. ********EDIT ALSO IT SAYS HE NEVER PLAYED DESTINY BEFORE LOOOOOOOL**********

10 RepliesYou know you can shoot the Lightning and Tripmine Grenades to get rid of them, right?
-
4 RepliesU can't just use lightning grenades whenever, unlike bolt grenades it requires positioning and a little finesse depending on the angle you use to throw them.
-
6 RepliesAnyone who says blink isn't OP as of now is probably just worried about losing one of their crutches.
-
I think firebolt grenades are even more bogus, they work in 3 dimensions and with burn can shut down a rush or flank better than any other grenade, and they have amazing range too.
-
1 ReplyI got a solution: just NERF everything. That way, nothing is useful and, ergo, nothing will be OP for the community to bitch about. Btw, people who use digital copy are OP. Only veterans use disks. NERF digital, Bungie!!!!
-
1 ReplyNo dumbass two totally different things. They have nothing to do with each other. This had to be the stupidest Shit I herd all day
-
5 RepliesI agree. Well observed post by someone who has been playing the game awhile I assume. Blink was never a problem. It was used primarily as a quick escape tool not a gap closer. It's only used the way it is now because of the way shotguns are at the moment. But on the other hand I like how shotguns are the king of close range as they should be, so maybe a nerf to blink actually isn't a bad idea? This will help prevent some of the annoying gap closing 1 shots while still keeping shotguns king at close range. With regards to titan, I agree as well. You'll see the top trials players abuse this often but hardly anyone else has caught on to its potential. It offers an even more effective gap close followed by a shoulder charge, and there's little you can to do prevent it. The range on those lightning grenades is ridiculous at times.

1 ReplyI can't get over the use/misuse of the word/prefix "meta".
-
1 ReplyIf they nerf handcannons then why not atheon?
-
4 RepliesLightning grenades are OP but neither Arcbolt or Firebolt get a mention? That's hilarious.
-
3 RepliesEven the top PVP players who use blink hem selves admit it needs a nerf. Please stfu, clinging to your crutch hard.

Blink isn't OP
O rly? -Blink out of rockets -Blink shotgun -Blink strike -Blink out of supers -Blink blade dancer -Blink out of gunfights -Blink out of grenades -Blink shotgun again -Triple blink -Blink off stickies Name one other jump that can do those things. One. Guys we need OP to respond to this. He probably muted me. Please, luke. You're my only hope.

Edited by sagacious Sol: 8/29/2015 2:25:16 PMAnother "bungie pls nerf those mean Titans who can't just teleport out of rockets grenades and other what should have been instant death attacks!" Yes please make the Titan even more useless. Look if you're stupid enough to sit in an area where it's easy to toss two grenades then eat the punishment, if you have a quick reflex you can dip he -blam!- out of there before the second grenade gets in there. If I can escape grenades like the Titans with a Titan then you can as a hunter and warlock no bullshit it's all on you! And really so when's the fire bolt and arcbolt tracking nerf coming? No comment on a grenade that literally tracks you a mile away? Try getting out of a room that gets two of those tossed in it you'll always get smacked by at least one and there ain't no blink to get away from the mob that follows it.

Have you ever shot a lightning grenade?
-
Shoot the grenade, then it's gone Problem solved
-
Ok. I'm all for nerfing blink. I myself use blink whenever I'm using my bladedancer and it's too easy to escape heavy fire. Unlike with every other special jump it's really difficult. So nerfing seems necessary. But I'm against u on the fact that u think lightning grenades deserve nerfing. You just need better avoiding skills...I guess...But I haven't seen u play. Or kill em b4 they throw the damn grenade.
-
2 RepliesThe bolt grenades are the most op grenades in the game actually, in my opinion. Also blink is op in its ability to evade gunfire and rockets. Also I do agree with you that lightning grenades should get a nerf. They need a range nerf since they can kill when you're still so far away from them.
-
1 ReplyI agree with you with blink, I've never seen it as a problem. Blink is not easy to control and should be used as a defensive jump. I do however feel that blink in combination with shotguns, especially their ridiculous range is the most annoying thing ever. But this more a shotgun problem than a blink problem. In combination with the shotguns range it turned from a defensive jump into an aggressive offensive jump with little to no counter. I disagree with lightning grenades, they are not OP. They are very strong but if you have full health and get hit by it once you still have the chance to flee. If you didn't have full health any other grenade or weapon could have finished you off.
-
Lightning grenades require some forethought in where you're going to stick them. Any player worth their salt can predict where a lightning grenade will be thrown and will be ready to evade or eliminate the Titan. Blink, on the other hand...
-
3 RepliesWhat? Lightning grenades only work well if they are placed tactically on a wall. If you're getting hit by lightnibg grenades, move away. You shouldn't stay in choke points for so long anyway. Blink has its problems. The Blink/Shotgun combo only worked so well because both were over perfoming. Nerf one, nerf the other.
