Thorn ruins pvp #Fact, let XUR sell Thorn!
*It's a bounty, this is sarcasm to prove a point. This threads about its DoT
Thorn takes the fun out of pvp and undermines sniper rifles, heavy machine guns.
Before some dumbass noob says I dont have it then look at my grimore and stats first, I dont use it because its that cheap and that boring to win with always, sure I can use mine but then where's the challenge?
Theres a reason everyone uses it obviously but a gun that 2 hits you with damage over time is just ruining the fun
All pvp is now with this gun is shoot someone and run away so you die from its effect. Lets make Xur sell it to prove a point so everyone can use it, because even with red death not that many people compared use it compared to thorn.
Hand cannons dont need nerfs, but Thorn should be 4 shot to keep an ability that takes off half your health. I use TLW, NLB, SUROs (scout rifle way), oversoul edict and red death. Thorn just kills someome before they can even line up a shot back at you
[b]For those window lickers who can't read and seem to think its one of those "nerf whatever because it kills you" threads. This is about the fun aspect, the fact its just a goto weapon for newbies because of the crazy auto aim. Anyone who finds it fun to use will get bored of it later too
But the amount of title reading people is astounding, window licking must be in hot demand![/b]

Edited by Fromage of Havoc: 3/23/2015 6:53:50 AMXur won't sell exotic bounty guns...The availability for getting that emissive is pretty frequent if you complete your vanguard/eris/crucible bounties daily...and everyone can complete it...This thread makes no sense. And a one hit to the face by a sniper is not undermined by two prec and a dot from a hand cannon...not by speed nor strength. And TBH, there is more Red Death users than Thorn users atm. RD can also outgun Thorn and negate any postmortem dots... granted all it cost a lot of folks was coins, I'd say that's -blam!-ed up. Take this from someone who used both of these while grinding IB to 4 and 5 on two characters. And then used a more standard HC to compare, fatebringer. FB was easier to take out targets under stress and crossfire than Thorn (way better body shot dmg and recoil), same with RD. Thorn was just good to use against campers, especially Thorny campers, but RD or a good Scout (I used NitC) was a better primary against decent snipers. If you're dying to Thorn as a sniper, you're either taking too long to shoot, or missing your shots completely, in which case RD would kill you too. So far, the only gun I've truly seen overused though is Felwinter's Lie. However, the amount of ticks on Thorn could use a reduction, at least for PvP. Something like 3 dots, maybe?

i agree Thorn is very strong in PvP, definitely Tier#1 weapon. i have it and prefer not to use it, however with Xur selling Red Death recently, this pulse rifle has FLOODED Iron Banner, so whenever i see 3-4 players on the opposing team using Red Death i will equip my Thorn, simply because the DoT stops the healt-regen

I loved Thorn before buff and is my favorite weapon, but I still think it needs to be nerfed.

I find it very enjoyable to use. I believe it is what they wanted the Thorn to be like. Many people believe it is the most difficult bounty to finish. That is why so many people bitch about it. I am horrendous at pvp. That said I finished it in 2 hrs.

I don't have a SUROS (sadly), and my go to primary in general is my trusty Up for anything and now that I got abyss defiant and Hard light(which all three share similar stats), I feel sad that my AR's are crap now. Buff everything. Just buff everything.
