Thorn ruins pvp #Fact, let XUR sell Thorn!
*It's a bounty, this is sarcasm to prove a point. This threads about its DoT
Thorn takes the fun out of pvp and undermines sniper rifles, heavy machine guns.
Before some dumbass noob says I dont have it then look at my grimore and stats first, I dont use it because its that cheap and that boring to win with always, sure I can use mine but then where's the challenge?
Theres a reason everyone uses it obviously but a gun that 2 hits you with damage over time is just ruining the fun
All pvp is now with this gun is shoot someone and run away so you die from its effect. Lets make Xur sell it to prove a point so everyone can use it, because even with red death not that many people compared use it compared to thorn.
Hand cannons dont need nerfs, but Thorn should be 4 shot to keep an ability that takes off half your health. I use TLW, NLB, SUROs (scout rifle way), oversoul edict and red death. Thorn just kills someome before they can even line up a shot back at you
[b]For those window lickers who can't read and seem to think its one of those "nerf whatever because it kills you" threads. This is about the fun aspect, the fact its just a goto weapon for newbies because of the crazy auto aim. Anyone who finds it fun to use will get bored of it later too
But the amount of title reading people is astounding, window licking must be in hot demand![/b]

If you take away Mark of the Devourer or even reduce the mag like you suggested to 4 rounds, it won't be any different than using a legendary. Yes it's easy to use, but most exotics are.

Toplol. You use Suros, former scrub lord weapon of choice before the nerf, the last word, and the god damned red death, two super OP guns if used correctly and have the nerve to complain about the Thorn? 3/10 for effort. Also it's two hs for a kill. Two body shots will not do even with dot.

Snipers can kill in 1 shot, fusion rifles/shotguns can kill in 1 shot. Rockets can kill multiple in 1 shot. Melee kills in 1 or 2 Hits ( thanks for pointing that out Zoream) What exactly do you want? Of the guns you say you use, you got 2 shot-killers as well. You still need to effectively line up 2 back-2-back headshots for Thorn to be a 2 shot kill, otherwise it is just a 3 or even 4 shot kill. Get over it and use it yourself, or haven't you finished that dreadful bounty yet..? Edit: melee kill update

But then you could say the same thing about good sniper players and how they can win with no effort, and red death users, and shotguns, and you know what at this point every single pulse rifle in this game is an easy win

1 ReplyI absolutely agree with you, 100%. And I don't see why people say it's so hard to obtain, it does not take as much effort as others say it does. Also, if one weapon is always going to 2 shot kill people, why not make all other hand cannons do so?

4 RepliesPeople don't seem to get the whole system behind TTK. You need to get 2 headshots with thorn for the DOT to kill someone otherwise they survive. Other wise it's 1 head shot and 2 body shots. The TTK on the last word is half the time of thorn. Thorn doesn't need buffed or nerfed. It has a low rate of fire so after getting hit with the first round means you have time to move. [spoiler]I don't use thorn anymore, im actually a MIDA user in pvp[/spoiler]

Thorn is good if you know how to use it, but any other weapon in the game can outgun it. I've outgunned many thorn users with a shingen-e. You just gotta be accurate.
