Imagine for a second, what your greatest fear could be. Death? Zombification? The loss of a loved one? Or perhaps something more?
Me? I think it’d have to be losing my mind. I’m not saying I’m smart, but it honestly is just terrifying to know that there could be a morning where I wake up and I ligerally cannot find the words to express how happy I am. Not being able to communicate, remember, heck, even think and solve problems for myself.

Facehuggers (from Alien). I'm not joking. It's something that combines claustrophobia, with the fear of inflitration, and being forced to give birth to a "child" you don't want, and the intense pain and suffering of that birth, plus fear of death, and arguably torture. Plus the knowledge that that child will hunt and kill everyone you care about. And there's nothing you can do to stop it. I also consider giants more frightening than fiction has ever typically given them credit for. Imagine something so large that you literally cannot escape it. And it's always pursuing you. Even worse in a 3D plane, e.g. underwater.
