People who leave are either sick and tired of trash teammates who have no competence, or they are huge d*cks and generally hate their teammates, (of course lag is also a reason). I'm not going to stick around for teammates who can't even pull their own weight. If you assume they left cause they're scared, well then check the leaderboard. If you and your teammates are below that person who left, you are the cause. I'm not saying you're wrong as to them being scared, I'm saying if that person left because of their teammates then at least it's a reason I can go by. I've been matched with so many +1.5's who can't hold their own without their teammates. No one is going to put in effort if they know the outcome is against what they are working for. I do agree with this statement though, I'm just saying being scared isn't the only cause.

I agree. Leavers are toxic and never planned to rank up from the start. They get their kicks off by ruining other peoples games.
