Played D1 Heroics. So much fun!
Due to utter D2 boredom, I decided to play a little D1. Looked at a possible solo nightfall. Nah. Didn't like the modifiers. Heroics...solar burn, small arms...why not. Sunsinger, a solar Adept Primary, what ever solar weapons in the other 2 slots, Heart of Praxic...let's go. Well, first off, I forgot how fast I could move as a Warlock, grenades with max discipline, wow! Regens a nade every 33 seconds, yes please. Launch super...my god, spamming nades, whole screen is on fire everything is burning, making orbs for team. Oh another lock, they're doing the same...I pick orbs! So much fun again. Ended up running 5 on a row. No boss made it past 30 seconds. Even Stupid Flayers. (Exotic solar swords, 2 upper cuts done.) I'll be playing D1 more I think. D2=yawn fest. Even with the update coming...still, boring I'm betting.

As a hunter it is just so much fun running around tossing so many grenades, popping a super 3-4 times in a 15 minuet strike, and the guns feel like they have impact. Such a powerful feeling. So if that is what it feels like to be legend then what the heck is D2 Edit 1: Did a nightfall and got about 5-7 bubbles off before the nightfall ended. Come back to D1 everyone. Dance parties and noobs that could use some guidance are around from time to time

Ran PoE with solar - specialist - precision modifier on, equiped my solar VoC & ex-machina and went too town. D1 definitely made you feel more powerful.

I have been doing the same lately, very enjoyable, they need to make D2s heroics like this and switch the nightfall specific loot drops to heroics like it was, i bet a lot will start playing again

Solar radiance was so freaking good. Mix dragons breath in and you could just watch the bosses melt. Rockets McDickface? Melts. Vex mind at the bottom of the big pit? Melts. Giant servitor boss? Melts a lot until he teleports. Giant flying shank? Caught on fire baby! Sorry, forgot their names.

6 RepliesThis is the sort of experience they need to add to D2 - make it more fun. I miss Sunsinger solar grenade spam, I miss fast movement, I miss Razelighter, I miss solar burn strikes... I just don't see the point in going back to D1 now though so I hope they add this experience to D2...

I should've mentioned I play D2 on PC now. It frees up the TV for the wife. Lol. I can game and watch whatever binge worthy show she wants to see. It's not that I completely dislike D2, there are a few elements I enjoy. Masterworks is nice to make orbs for yourself, but the perks are nothing special otherwise. Maybe that's it actually. The static rolls, duplicate after duplicate, even 2 of the same thing in one package, exotics not being over powering rather under whelming. Enemy weapons are far better than any gaurdian ones ie: any with splash damage and can be rapid spammed= gaurdian down. Minotaurs that seem to know exactly when to "blink" when your trying to hit them with anything. I can keep going, I think y'all get the point.

as fun as d1 was i had always hoped they had expanded the experience and given us new things to play with in addittion to the old.

Me too. Been playing D1 this week running heroics. Not only is it more fun ... just look how our characters appearance is! My hunter all decked out in Age of Triumph Oryx fear with ornaments and bones of EAO. Gameplay, character appearance, everything was better in D1. Now, there was still a long way to go to make D1 better, but D2 is a huge step back.

1 ReplyThe biggest killer for me in D2 besides pve being trash, is not having my favorite setup which is D1 Solar Warlock. Bungie only understands greed, lies, and anti fun.

Enjoy playing D1 crucible, way more fun. As a solo player you actually have a chance at killing 2-3 at a time. Grenades stick, use gun, melee for the triple kill. Maybe get lucky with another grenade stick for the 4th.

Bungie had the audacity to up the light level on normal strikes and call them “heroic” in D2. No modifiers or scoring as with D1. Just another regression from D1-D2.
