Right, there's a lot (A F*CKING LOT) of hate on the forums towards Bungie for many many things... But what do people actually suggest they do, realistically? (Refunding everyone or giving away the content for free isn't realistic)
-
An apology would be nice. I mean for them letting Xur sell Prom Lens. I'd have rather have a few of my trials matches ruined by the gun then have every crucible match ruined by it. For instance people played Mayhem. Mayhem because it was fun and enjoyable. Nothing enjoyable about pointing a broken laser.

3 RepliesEdited by Vampire Nox: 12/7/2017 4:07:37 PMPersonally; Bungie should do what those other guys did with FFXIV. Fire all the top people (Luke Smith and company -MUST- go due to gross incompetence), bring in people who know what an MMORPGFPS actually is, and how to properly manage a game like that. Let the Players keep playing D2, but set up a story line of an incoming "apocalypse". Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Bungie is completely rebuilding Destiny from the ground up, to be the masterful MMORPGFPS that it was always marketed, sold, and supposed to be. Once they're done with the "New Destiny", the aforementioned apocalypse takes place, the current Destiny servers are shut off, and after maybe a day or two of downtime, the "New Destiny" servers come online, and Players get the game that they were supposed to have all along. This solution would require a year or two of work (possibly), but it's really the only way to save this shit-show of a franchise at this point.

6 RepliesRealistically, they need to build a time machine, go back to the moment when they decided they wanted D2 to suck dick and then not decide that.
-
Bungie needs to go back to Microsoft.
-
End it so we can be put out of our misery. They just need to pull the plug on the servers to stop the life support that prevents this game from dying. That’s literally all that’s left now.

Edited by Black_Widow503: 12/7/2017 7:57:04 PMThe problem is people have been pouring so much effort into posts for years suggesting what Bungie should do. They know what the players want. They have chosen to ignore us. Why waste our time? It is now smarter to just wait and see what they do pending lower sales and lower player engagement. I can tell you this, they won’t be getting 3 solid years of player engagement with this iteration of Destiny no matter how much content they add. The problems lie at the core and until they choose to change philosophies we shouldn’t waste our breath.

It really goes to show how much bungie has dumbed down this game my warlock is currently 323 light ( i say light coz im an year 1 destiny player ) all i have done is pathetic story, milestones and a heroic mercury mission i only started him yesterday from 305, pathetic my hunter is 319 and im starting my titan tomorrow

They need to actually make the destinations explorable. There is tons of rendered play space and usable geometry that isn't being populated and utilized. We have densely detailed areas, but no vastness of scope. When they showed the live action trailer for D1, they showed people driving sparrows across the moon. That's what is missing. When they displayed the E3 build before D1 launched, they said something along the lines of, 'see that mountain? You can go there.' Well, you still can't. The vastness of scope and explorable space is what this game is missing. It is the experience that is so satisfying that people won't bicker and complain about minor details of balance or endgame rewards. When I played Skyrim, I didn't have time or inclination to go on the Bethesda forums and complain about anything, or troll and insult like so many people here do. I spent my time exploring the world, learning about the lore, fighting enemies and progressing in the direction I wanted. Skyrim was a great game for its time. Destiny has the potential to do this. The setting is fantastic, the art direction is top notch, the lore is deep, the gameplay is solid. It has everything you need to make a great franchise. It just needs innovation, it needs the feeling that we never got; exploring lost civilizations; traveling the solar system; saving humanity.

They should do nothing because idiots keep making in game real money purchases. And because of those people Bungie has no reason to do anything. They literally will say anything until they have your money. Since they now have your money they don’t and won’t nor will ever do anything.
-
A little honesty would go a long way. Admit that they lied to us and Activision by promising more in their contract than they ever could manage to create. People will generally forgive you if you're humble and apologize honestly. You still may get an ass kicking but they will be a bit more lenient.

2 RepliesScrap D2 and continue D1.

Film themselves being kicked in the nuts.

1 ReplyEdited by M0WBZ: 12/8/2017 2:31:39 AMWhy do i wanna say drink some bleach so much??? Thats unfair, they just need to pull their socks right up, get to work and create awesomeness again. Cant be that hard. Can it?

Didn't they make a big, dramatic post about how they're going to improve communications between themselves and the community? Following up on that would be a good place to start.

1. Continue support for D1 with the inclusion of versions of IB and Trials. 2. Bring back 6v6 and improve matchmaking to reduce fireteam v solo. 3. Lower the TTK across the board. 4. Remove timers. Nobody likes them and they add nothing to the game. 5. Make rewards rewarding. 6. Bring back random rolls. 7. BE HONEST. The game is in a terrible state. People are leaving at an alarming rate and no longer trust Bungie to follow through on their promises. 8. Communicate. There wouldn't be nearly as much hate if the devs said. We tried something and it didn't work out, here is what we'll do to fix it. In their State of Destiny blog they claimed to do this then ignored the vast majority of the feedback, then gave us more tokens. 9. Eververse. Remove RNG from purchases (before the law does). 10. STOP RESKINNING D1 CONTENT. You told us that weapons and armor were not being passed on from D1 to encourage players to use different weapons. Maps, weapons, armor. Don't get me started on the fact that there are only 4 enemy races in the known universe. I paid for a new game not an old one. 11. Meaningful content and reasons to play. What is the point in running strikes when all you get is 7 tokens. Then when you have amassed enough tokens hand them in for an item lower light than you already have with the exact same rolls. The reason Bungie got caught in the XP scandal is because players just spam public events and the XP throttling was easy to see on such short events. I'm sure I could roll out a lot more but I bored now. Similar to my feelings while playing the new DLC

1. Dedicated servers 2. Game breaking weapons ( e.g suros, ghallahorn, thorn) 3. Raid Loot with raid specific perks 4. Noooooooo exclusives 5. Let us select our game made in PVP 6. The app is honestly bad. Why can’t we look at our guardian? Why is the forum hidden? I’ve never understood why games change so much like D2 has. Look at what is successful about your game and build on that. Make the experience better, don’t change it to how you want people to play.

3 RepliesEdited by Caboose: 12/8/2017 12:51:51 AM1. Be honest with us. 2. Focus on making fun pve over balanced pvp. 3. Move all the new armor sets from eververse into activities that can give them as rewards. 4. Change tokens to reputation. 5. Fix the exotic engram duplicate problem. 6. Remove the nightfall timers and just make them super hard. Most of these may seem like kinda stupid changes, but all to them are things the community wants, and doing this will show they’re listening. Edit: also let us pick our pvp game modes. No one likes supremacy.

5 RepliesEdited by Xfg SteaLth xD: 12/7/2017 4:43:57 PMDestiny year 1 was good, very good. It's probably too late but Make the game exactly like that but with the content we have now.

Put the fun things from d1 back into d2. Private matches Faster ability recharges 6v6 Secondary weapons -seriously, the idea to put most secondaries in heavy was pretty stupid Strike scoring Strike specific loot Actual loot in the raid Game mode options for PvP The list goes on and on. Bungle tried way too hard to make Destiny 2 as unrecognizable as possible.
-
10 RepliesThey have a few options. IDK how realistic they are, but they DO have options: 1. Be honest with players. Come out and admit that this game is nothing more than a PVP-Oriented shooter game and they can't give us anything worthy to grind for, and PVP is the intended endgame. 2. Admit that they -BLAM!-ed up royally in their developmental decisions for the game, take the game offline to reverse all those decisions (#1 of which should be the separation of competitive PVP from the rest of the game) and relaunch the game a year or more in the future when the core gameplay systems support the kind of game we expected D2 to be. 3. Reverse course on the push for competitive PVP. Their PVP base is dwindling and PVE players now outnumber PVP players 3:1. Now would be a perfect opportunity to admit that the push for competitive PVP/E-Sports has backfired. They can get rid of Trials (since Trials is what is behind the push for competitive PVP/E-Sports to begin with) and other competitive PVP modes and go back to PVP being nothing more than a test of gear that doesn't need to be perfectly balanced. They can then add back random rolls, Special weapons, reduce ability regen times, etc. Basically make the core gameplay more like D1. Then they can add in some really awesome weapons for us to chase after, and the game can be more of a looter game. 4. They can fire their current sandbox team. Because they're largely behind the push to both slow down the PVP of this game (The pace of PVP was not a problem in D1Y1 - the game was just meant to play fast. And trying to slow it down actually RUINED the game). 5. Fulfill the requirement to produce DLC for D2 up through the season pass and announce that ALL FUTURE DLC beyond that will be for D1. Start supporting D1 again and try to funnel people back into D1 while you basically abandon D2, and hope that D1 keeps the player base playing long enough for them to do ANOTHER total reboot of the franchise for D3 to make it more like D1Y1 - with REAL fixes to issues that were TRULY problematic in Y1 - like the failure to separate PVE from PVP, the lack of OMM for all modes, DLC content lockouts, etc. I don't think they'll do any of these unfortunately though. I think they'll continue to execute their current plan until their player base hits rock bottom. At that point, I think they'll TRY some different things, but it'll likely be far too little and FAR FAR FAR too late.
-
Honestly, at this point, I'm not sure there is an economically viable way to fix this in any timely manner. So many issues are baked into the core of the game. Abilities are a major one for me, but redoing the entire ability tree system and rebalancing the game with more frequent abilities would be expensive, time consuming, and lacks profit potential. Shaders too, but that's a good chunk of Eververse stock, and keeping them consumable keeps them in demand. I suppose allowing armor to have stats that can be adjusted (so you can wear what you want) is more possible. I wish they could make this game fun again, but I don't think they will in time.

1 ReplyI could write a book. Bungie failed us is the best way to put it. If you want a book. I'll write it tomorrow.

1 ReplyRealize that destiny is a pve game. They built d2 around trials and its been a huge flop. Not even the hardcore pvp community likes it. Say screw balance. Make crazy powerful builds, weapons and exotics. So that when you do anything you feel like a badass. Go back to the old weapons system. Bring back random rolls. Have fusions, snipers and shotguns that can be in both special and heavy. Make those heavys crazy powerful so there is a differance between the two slots. If pvp is unbalanced so be it. Throw in more heavy, and special. Make abilities charge faster. Who cares if there is supers, specials and heavy everywhere. Its more about fun than balance.
-
Easy, take the shit from eververse and give it to us like they used to as unique end game rewards, remember if you saw the hard raid ship in D1 that mean they had done the hard raid, today, token this and eververse that!!!!
-
You're completely right. Too many requests from opposite sides. But I'd start by addressing this: http://metro.co.uk/2017/12/07/bungie-want-destiny-2-designers-create-player-progression-behind-loot-boxes-7139502/

-blam!-ing ship combat! SRL! Something. The game already has the capability. Maybe adding something new instead of reskinning the same crap and running missions backwards.
