Void and Solar Zhalo Please...

Hey Bungie, thanks for adding the Abbadon and the Nova Mortis! How about creating void and solar versions of the Zhalo Supercell? EDIT: Lots of good comments on both sides for and against elemental primaries. It's probably true that those weapons would be overused during burn PVE events. I've had Zhalo for quite a while but never used it much. Got it out last week on the heroics and it was a blast. I don't think it "broke the game" though. Zhalo has never been my first choice. My normal go-to are Hung Jury or Juju depending on what character I'm running, and they would most likely remain my go-to even if we had more elemental primary exotics. For those saying bring back Vex, great idea. While it got nerfed to hell, it would be great to see that brought forward. I'd support that over a solar Zhalo. An elemental Mida or Juju while a cool idea would most certainly break the game - those are both top tier in PVE already IMO. (Although Juju may be most fitting for void burn as Hailwalker pointed out below) Void on a Necro or Hardlight would be good, but probably doesn't 'fit' the weapon. At the end of the day, while some of us miss the elemental primary, there are reasonable arguments for not having them. It's an interesting discussion, but as ScoutMan pointed out in the very first comment below, keep dreaming.

  • What about Thorn? We need to use void light to get it, maybe it should be void too. As for Solar...Vex, definitely vex. Solution to Elemental primaries debate: Bring back elemental primaries, give us kinetic specials and heavies too. Increase the number of scenarios where having a kinetic weapon would be preferable. Lastly, give us consumables to add or take away elements from our weapons (elemental extractor, elemental cores, etc.)

        • No. Add consumables that give 30 minutes of a damage type to all primary guns you equip. Arc infusion: adds arc to primary weapons for a time. Void infusion: adds void to primary weapons for a time. Solar infusion: adds solar to primary weapons for a time. Zur can sell them for coins or eververse can sell them for silver dust.

              How about limiting the number of burns you can use. Let's say 2/3 of your weapons can use burn. So if you want a primary and heavy to have burn, you have to give up your special burn.Burn would be acquired through something like an emblem or chroma (who ever selects chroma packages amirite? This could also be an incentive to actually select chroma packages) This way you could still cover all burn types (subclass +2 weapons). Personally, I think that having primaries with burn is OP, especially if it's paired with small arms. But, I gotta admit... It's hard to argue against being able to melt everything. Maybe requiring a primary to be exotic before you can get a burn perk.

              • What we need is (for exotics only) is an elemental core. You get it from trails, raids, and nightfall and it gives an exotics a random element. If you don't like the element you can dismantle the core in the gun's menu. After the core is dismantled you'll get shards and 10 shards make another core. That way it isn't permanent and any exotic (because primary's don't have burns) will be great! Now you can have your favorite primary exotic(s) have burns

                • Won't happen. Pve would go back to using the same three guns for everything again, especially if any strike or nightfall or Coe event had a burn. That's why they moved away from elemental primaries in the first place. No one ever used any other gun besides the magical few.

                          This post takes both pve an pvp into consideration. So, these effects I'm adding will have no effect in crucible. Just solid pve weapons. I wouldn't want to see a solar/void one simply because it doesn't really fit a theme. Supercells perks fit it's "arc" theme. Chaining lightnings and whatnot. What I would like to see, however, is this. Either a solar scout, AR or pulse. I'll describe all 3. Then maybe void, but void is tricky. Scout - highest impact ( jade rabbit archetype ) chaining precision hits (4) causes the target to catch fire. (Starting perk) Enemies felled by this weapon while on fire combust leaving a solar flare that blinds enemies nearby (last perk) This perk set up would be for pve, as it takes 3-4 precision hits to kill a guardian, so it will have little to no effect. The perk could also specify Minions of the darkness so that way it won't affect guardians at all. A solid pve weapon. Pulse - initially the same as scout. [b]3 full bursts must hit the taget[/b] catches flame, precision kills leave a sunspot (instead of flare) could be any archetype honestly. Maybe the Hawksaw would be preferable considering all pulses take 3 bursts to kill a guardian and it's an in between archetype. Could be the highest impact pulse so that way it's sought after. AR - this one is the most fun, but would destroy pvp, but great for pve. Highest impact AR, slowest rate of fire (suros) The weapon is designed like a MG, 60 round mag, slowest possible reload speed. Medium stability, low range. Here's the run down. [b]solar[/b] [b]initial perk is explosive rounds[/b] [b]persistence[/b] [b]middle column will consist of perks to increase range, stability, or field scout. The range or stability increases will all have trade offs, (minus range, stability, impact or magazine size. That can be up for discussion)[/b] [b]and firefly. [/b] Maybe no actual exotic perk, given the weapon is so unique in design and actual perks. Plus it already gets explosive rounds as an intrinsic, so... like I said, fun for pve, but would destroy pvp. I seen a post about someone wanting an MG for a primary, explained that it'd be an AR, just with an MG design and large magazine. Everything else I've added. When I thought about this weapon I thought about a Torgue (spelling?) Weapon from Borderlands 2. Void. Scout - there was a scout called "price of Exile", I think was the name, solid idea. Spawns an axion seeker on a precision kill. If the perk specified "minions of the darkness" it would be great for pve, and not affect pvp. Pulse - precision kills release a shrieker death blast ( on minions ) But would consist of less orbs....? Not sure what to call them. And the damage could be toned way down. Would be similar to OB Prime, but for Hive. AR - chaining shots ( on minions ) slows them. Pretty cut and dry. Could make it a low impact archetype to make it a viable archetype for pve ( necro ) Hand cannons are not included into this curently because of the low ammo reserves for pve. The only thing that makes a HC usable is fire fly, but let's be honest here. We're not going to take an exotic hand cannon into a raid for DPS reasons.

                          I don't want to use Zhalo more than I already do for arc events. I'd rather have the ability to infuse any primary I want with a burn of my choice. It would only affect PVE; therefore, no harm to anyone. It would increase diversity, especially if I could infuse more than one gun. I would have a Palindrome for every burn... It would be beautiful. And then I'd have a solar Mida and my Cryptic Dragon with Crowd Control and Explosive Rounds would be solar. My original vendor Hung Jury would be void. And my firefly Imago Loop would be arc (of course...). It would be glorious. Oh, and my hard hitting Colovance would be solar, I'd have a void Nirwins (because why not? And, it's one of my favorite guns in the game, even if it's not meta any more), Hard Light would be arc, Finnala's Peril Void, Hopscotch Solar, Doctrine Arc, Thorn void... hehe
