its not a joke. crucible drops endgame level gear. it should be hard. very hard. fun can be had in private matches. there are thousands of posts here and on reditt and lfg sites setting up private matches all the time.

It only drops guns at a high level though, unless you count the Iron Banner and Trials. And to be fair, the Forge drops high end ghosts and class items and it's about as easy as it gets.
-
@soren +1 @Hemphlev are you blind? Standard pvp drops "at or just above" your light level weps (and WEPS only). that's it. they 're not even good. have you tried ill will ? the sorcerer (even with a great roll it doesn't come near saladin's vigil)? the AMR ? (even with 3 shots you can't kill a titan..) for christ sake.. what kind of argument is that ? oO like hemphlev rightfully said : "unless you count the iron banner and trials" which are rightfully competitive. But the op was talking about "normal PVP".

No, there should be 2 playlists. A casual playlist and a ranked playlist. In the ranked playlist your rewards come from doing well and doing well offers the best rolls on weapons etc. Casual playlist should be PURE CBMM and it should still drop rewards but the chances wont be as high, so then it caters to both audiances
-
+1 this is just logical and pure good sens.
-
No that should not happen, that would give the elitist arseholes more things to cry about. -blam!- ranked playlist.
its not a joke. crucible drops endgame level gear. it should be hard. very hard.
The only flaw in your logic is that it rewards this endgame level gear as a participation trophy. You can go AFK for 3 minutes, shoot a guy, go AFK again, lose the game terribly, and get the same amount of gear for trying your hardest and mercy winning. Endgame gear for no effort. Trials, raids, NF: these you actually have to show up and try to get endgame gear (not counting carries as someone has to try on your behalf; there's still effort involved, just not yours).

yeah. i thought about that after posting. A weighted system based on performance would solve that but then every person on the bottom of the leaderboard would be pissed when they go positive and the guy up top gets good gear for having more points whith twice as many deaths. there is no perfect system...I guess the best thing to do is just leave it alone.
-
I definitely wouldn't weigh the drops based on performance or score. However, it also shouldn't be handing out endgame gear as a participation trophy. To me, it's simple solution: make the non-endgame crucible (not IB/Trials) a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Have it be an unranked and social playlists, and restrict drops to the SIVA Strike cap (365 iirc).

No. Trials and maybe banner should be sweats. Regular cruicble is there just to relax, it's not a tournament with $ on the line. Private matches rewards are trash and you'd be playing the same people over and over
-
+1 good sense. it's sad that not everyone can see such an obvious thing for christ sake. We pay to have CHOICE, a choice to have a sweaty exp or casual depending which mood you're on and the time you can have to play. come on kids bring some brain. for a change.

I diagree with your definition of fun, and apparently bungie does too.
-
No, the bottom tier does. And bungie caters to casuals
-
+1 (again.) Bungie tends to not listen to it's "base players" which is unfortunate to say the least cause we are the most numerous and the ones who brings money.
-
I agree with that for sure!
