Just throwing this out there to a lot of people who dont understand: I'm not poor.
I live on my own.
I like to have food and stuff to drink other than tap water and ramen noodles.
I like to go out and do stuff with my girlfriend. Although we do like movie nights.
I have other hobbies I enjoy that require money.
I have a car payment to pay.
Having a car requires gas.
I like to have some money put back in case something happens to said car.
I'm not poor.
I'm just not willing to spend 300+ dollars on a video game console if that means I'm short somewhere else.
And to the people who are like "save 2$ everyday and you'll have enough".
I get paid every 2 weeks. I don't get an allowance everyday. And that means I might not have an extra 50 bucks every check to put away.
If you're well off compared to everyone else, good for you. Don't judge me cause I don't have what you do.
I'd rather earn my things then be given it when I want it.

So be it.
At least I'm happy. And I won't do anything to change that.
I love my job, so why would I go get a new one and work with people who i don't like or get along with?
Also, I have never once complained about the game "leaving me behind" or anything of that sort. So I don't understand why people think I'm complaining about that.
I'm just tired of people on there soap boxes preaching about this and that, and how there better than everyone else.

You arent poor, but you either misjudge the things you like, or have horrible money management skills. Stop going out, stop buying namebrand food, and stop posting on a forum that by this point is filled with PROBABLY mostly current gen users that have no sympathy for your plight. Either you care enough to do this, or its a -blam!-ing game and not important to you. But this NONpost is just allowing all the trolls to laugh at your poor man plight. Get a credit card, 400 dollars debt aint shit comparatively. Stop making other people feel bad because YOU CHOOSE TO NOT UPGRADE. Is this the only game you play? Dafuq else has come out on ps3 no less that is worth keeping it around? I play occasion multiplayer games with it but its now my 7 year old son's system minus the sales that have me filling my backlog.

5 RepliesSorry to tell you man but I manage money for a living, if saving $300 over a couple of months will make you short on necessities/your other luxuries, then you either spend WAY too much on those other luxuries you enjoy or you are in fact poor. I don't say that to be mean, I say it as a reality check. I have to counsel young clients this way because they think that they are doing really well with like a $10-12 per hour job. If you make decent income and $300 is still a stretch then you are mismanaging your money. Otherwise you are actually poor. Namaste.

4 RepliesI get what you're saying. I'm 33 and support a wife and two kids. Responsibilities come first. That said... If spending $300-ish makes you short somewhere else, you are indeed poor. That's just real shit. You can hardly wipe your ass with $300 these days.
