Ok guys, here's the deal. Every other post is a crybaby talking about how the doctrine is op and needs to be nerfed to the ground. Needs no skill to win. Blah blah blah. Here's the thing: the doctrine has been nerfed with the last update.
Here's my argument.
Do you remember when you self entitled little babies cried, and cried, and cried, and cried for auto rifle buffs in December? And cried even more when they only buffed doctrine by .04%? Here let me remind you of how many of you suck on binkies on a daily basis.

It's absolutely ridiculous that these same people cry for doctrine destroying nerfs when you were just asking for it to be buffed.
These are just a few of the thousands made in December. This community needs to chill the fück out and realize that just because a gun is popular doesn't mean it has to be destroyed.
Crybabies.

Doctrine would be fine where it was at if they just cut the ammo in half. The only thing it needs tweaked if they were to do something is its effective range. No way you should be able to consistently out gun a MIDA from special to special on Pantheon. Being able to kill before they can get their 3rd shot off is ridiculous.

2 RepliesNot because it's popular. It's popular because it's overpowered, since almost nobody in the Crucible has a sense of sportsmanship or honor. Doctrine needs a few nerfs, while other auto rifles needed buffs. For instance, Dealbreaker needs a tiny buff, Doctrine needs a tiny nerf. The Suros ARI-41 needs a little buff, Haakon's Hatchet needs a little nerf. You see how this works?

Edited by Erijian: 5/11/2016 10:52:46 PMThe Doctrine is just a forgiving weapon..Precision hits, or body hits, it doesn't really matter as your TTK is going to be competitive either way. It's also easier to kill people at further ranges with it due to the sheer amount of bullets you're putting down the lane..That don't need to be precision hits. Probably the easiest weapon type to use in the game, which is why it's so popular.

It is OP biotch. Face it and get over it retard

Your post is a little disingenuous, because you equate balancing with nerfing into the ground. I think most sensible people want very slight adjustments to the weapon. They don't want it to be useless. Again, I said sensible people.

1 ReplyWe hear you concerns and have actively decided to put in a gangnam style emote instead.

This is the NERF police. Come on, can't we NERF it just a little???

I would like to think im a decent player, but i just cant use the doctrine. Im rubbish with it. Prefer my hawkmoon.
-
I wish they hadn't touched the gun. The players here cry about everything lol. Gun still melts without counterbalance. I prefer my arminus d with counter balance amd crowd control. I love it so much lol

44 RepliesI think the issue is, Doctrine of Passing is a gun obtainable by top tier players, but the people that call for nerfs on it are obviously not top tier players. Those average players are the same players that want auto rifles to be viable in the crucible again. Of course the top players that have earned this weapon do not want to see it get nerfed, LOL. There is only one solution: they must make an auto rifle that is slightly better than DoP and make it available to everybody, like through a quest perhaps. INB4:
I realize Arminius D is a poor man's version, but I said a slightly better weapon, not slightly worse.
The doctrine is dangerous. I don't have one, but I love going up against people who do. There is a noticeable difference between how quickly I get killed by a doctrine and any other weapon, in frequency anyways.
-
4 RepliesI had a well thought out argument on another Doctrine post a while ago explaining how it's not balanced, but I'm too lazy to spend another hour rewriting it.

Some of us cried about the 0.04 percent buff because bungie lied and said it would be 4 percent fight me deej

I see the doctrine as a worse version of TLW. 100x easier to use with counterbalance and a huge mag. But a good TLW user always beats a doctrine
-
2 RepliesThe issue is that bungie allows people to obtain guns that can come with perks to completely negate any recoil. AND ON TOP OF THAT; increase stability Note: before DoP was a "problem", nirwen's and Hawksaw were as well. And before then, it was tlw's stability (and it could two shot by adsing and glitching the gun). Or even when mythoclast was the best; it was because it hit like a truck, and would barely move. Just make it so that people can't randomly get weapons that act like lasers instead of guns.

I'd say most people complaining about it are shotgun rushers who get mowed down by it in the time it takes them to try to fire off a second shot because the first was to far away

2 RepliesEdited by Soul_Eater_42: 5/11/2016 3:24:24 AMIt's annoying how they all have suddenly jumped on this hate bandwagon towards it. At its current state, it's impossible to make changes damage-wise without breaking it. Honestly, a lot of this nonsense could be better dealt with by raising player health before messing with all the damage values on weapons. Giving us only, at best, 198 health, doesn't exactly give them a lot of leg room in terms of trying to balance every weapon and create an ideal time to kill. If they raised it to as high as, perhaps, 900, then they could really tweak everything as necessary. With more health, you have larger numbers to work with. This current setup they have going on really makes balancing a very unnecessarily delicate task.

Edited by InfernalDemise: 5/11/2016 2:33:31 PMThe best part is how they scream that it kills so fast when the ttk spreadsheets clearly show that it falls in line with most good legendary weapons. Last time I looked it was .86 seconds, and that was before the nerf. It's probably .9 something now. Keep in mind that is the best possible time, and you're delusional if you think you're going to hit all those headshots very often.

Thank you for this post. I've been using the doctrine since way back in November and everyone is crying about it now since it's popular yet I didn't get hate mail or anything back when I first got it

The issue is doctrine comes with 3 stability perks, has a fast time to kill and is probably the easiest to use weapon in the game
