I was under the impression that Liberals and Democrats were supposed to be the "party of tolerance". So why are so many of them (even on this forum) much more likely to mute or block people with different views?
I ask, only because I respectfully disagreed with an individual's post, without once insulting them, or attacking them personally. Instead of the individual posting a response and having a back-and-forth debate (as a decent political discussion should be), the individual mutes me, proceeds to insult me for disagreeing with them, then accuses me of insulting him when I never insulted him...?
Where is this "tolerance"?
Here's a nice, informative study that may benefit both Democrats and Republicans:

3 RepliesThey're tolerant as long as you agree with them.

Edited by Spartan 22O: 4/1/2016 4:11:44 AMBecause theyre so self righteous that their automatic mental defense mechanism is to, ironically, be intolerant even of the voice of opposition. Liberals simply will do anything in their power to silence opposition, usually involves name calling and inaccurate historical references because most of them are uneducated and can't debate.

3 RepliesEdited by Joyaboi: 4/6/2016 12:51:54 AMThis is no lie. I blocked a few close friends because MY FREAKING GOD WE GET IT! Trump is your Lord and Savior. I don't go around posting constant shit about Obama or whatever. Nobody gives a shit. This is Facebook. Seeing the Liberal agenda with #dabfortrump won't magically convert me. I go here to see what my friends and family are up to, not see their every inner thought. This goes for the other side too. I don't really give two flying -blam!-s about Feeling The Burn (I already do when I pee) or why Hillary is corrupt. Move on with your lives. Seriously. This being said I also block people for a previously mentioned thing, I DONT NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING YOU THINK. I get it, you had slightly above average waffles that made your day. Woo. Want a -blam!-ing medal? I already deleted my Instagram account because I'm so tired of people's bullshit. Social media in general is a joke

Disagreeing with a liberal is insulting them. They're sensitive participation trophy kids.

You sir have found the authoritarian regressive left. They are extremely intolerant and bigoted and are freedoms worst enemy. I recommend turning back to the libertarian left or right for rational discussions before the regressive left manages cause your brain to explode from the pure stupidity they spew.

Liberals and Conservatives are both immature and argue, insult and block each other. Well, they pretend to be liberal or conservative, but they're really just following the herd.

1 ReplyTolerant to the person as their origin not what they view So far I haven't read anyone post a bs bio on a guy saying "republicanism is a disease" because I've heard the other way around. It's called blocking the stupid. Scholars to tend to support one side (cough) so makes sense they can tell bs from a mile away

13 RepliesReally? You do know Trump is preventing media from filming protestors who show up to his rallies right?

Edited by superassassin364: 4/2/2016 6:42:53 AMAs someone who leans closely on the liberal side, here is my confession regarding intolerance. I never claim myself to be so tolerant as other liberals say because that can honestly be pretty difficult sometimes with the crap people say. I try not to have such hatred in my heart, but if an individual conservative makes me that angry, it's probably because they're being ignorant/hateful assholes to others, or if they're ever supporting/taking legislative action against another group because of their ethnicity, religion, or orientation. I have yet to see as many extremist liberals supporting that kind of legal action as I unfortunately have with right wing extremists. Will edit more on this tomorrow.

6 RepliesBecause they know an argument with a 10 year old Trump supporter on a game forum isn't worth their time and would rather enjoy themselves rather than deal with that.

Liberals overreact and get butt-hurt about EVERYTHING.

13 RepliesOh!!! You used this source again huh?:D Hey EVERYONE read what else it says. If he wants to believe this source let's share some more shall we..
Overall, the study finds that consistent conservatives: Are tightly clustered around a single news source, far more than any other group in the survey, with 47% citing Fox News as their main source for news about government and politics. Express greater distrust than trust of 24 of the 36 news sources measured in the survey. At the same time, fully 88% of consistent conservatives trust Fox News. Are, when on Facebook, more likely than those in other ideological groups to hear political opinions that are in line with their own views. Are more likely to have friends who share their own political views. Two-thirds (66%) say most of their close friends share their views on government and politics.
Almost half watch Fox News. That's half that needs to go to the garbage bin immediately. It also say liberals have less media loyalty. We diversify our media more.
