What if each of the factions had an elemental primary you could get when you reach a certain rank.(DO-Void,NM-Solar,FWC-Arc) And you can only use that weapon for that character and have to be in the faction to use it.

If this game was PVE focused, or even PVE balanced, then yes. But with the continued focus on PVP, it's not gonna happen.

I am a volunteer moderator.[/b] Unpopular opinion here, but elemental primary weapons were terrible for the sandbox. Essentially any weapon that didn't have an elemental tag on it was considered trash in the PVE meta. Y1 was fun, but I didn't use anything BUT my [armory]Vision of Confluence[/armory] the whole time. TTK was a mixed bag for many people, but I do feel this was one chord they hit right. (though ToM would be a good candidate for ele, like Mythoclast and Necrochasm before it) [b]EDIT: [/b]I love the amount of discussion being brought to the table. Dissenting voices or otherwise, the amount of effort and thought people are putting into an idea like elemental primaries shows the continued passion people have for Destiny. (even if many of us are suffering from the Great Malaise of 2016 right now) Thanks for speaking up.

How about exotic gauntlets that give your primary a specific burn type. 1) you'd have to grind for the gauntlets. 2) you'd have to sacrifice the exotic armor spot to equip them. *drops mic* (If this has been suggested previously I apologize)

1 ReplyJust an idea here, but what if Xur sold a power core in the form of a consumable. Upon consuming gives primaries the corresponding burn for that one you used. Arc power core infuses your primary to do arc damage and so forth. The consumable either runs on a timer or a "charge" and maybe limit it so Xur only sells one type a week or that you can only hold one at a time to keep the exploitation of the burns to a minimum. That gives players the ability to use their favourite guns and not limit the demand for specific set of legendaries.

What could solve the issue, and make things interesting in PvP, is choosing the element of your first 2 bars of health and kinetic shields could be an option that could make things interesting

1 ReplyElemental shields on enemies are BS without a corresponding elemental weapon to drop the shields. The only reason people were locked into loadouts Y1 is because of this. Adding elemental cores to the game giving the opportunity to stack the guns you want with the damage type you want would solve that problem. Everyone knows this. It's common knowledge. Bungie lacks the resolve to fix issues at every level. Which is why they need to outsource employees directly from the community to lead this game in the right direction. #idropbombsyo2016 #meetthenewboss #thingsaregonnachangeicanfeelit
