Was in ToO and I will admit one of my friends was lagging but he never lag switches but anyway he was lagging during this game and we beat them 5-0 all of a sudden I get an invite to their party and they were shouting and swearing saying that we are lag switching C**ts and that they recorded the gameplay and are sending it to bungie and they kept harrasing us. Honestly they where sore losing noobs yes my friend was lagging but we don't lag switch to win so guys their is a lot of people out their that are putting false reports on people in pvp

12 RepliesIf one of your buddies is lagging and you keep playing, you're cheating.

6 RepliesWhat was the point of this post? Feeling guilty about something? If you didn't cheat you won't get banned. Simple. If you have a bad connection; you might get banned from crucible for a short period of time. Simple.

1 ReplyIf you guys were in a fireteam and party chat that's what would most likely be causing the lag. Try using in game chat, I know it sucks but it does reduce lag sometimes. Wifi can also cause problems. I'm sorry you got harrassed but your friend should have pulled out if he was lagging as it was selfish to stay in the game if it was ruining other peoples experience. Just my opinion, don't get upset.

Tell Bungie to git gud and invest in dedicated servers.
-
Just admit u lag switched
-
Aren't you guy that messages people after beating them and tells them they suck?
-
Tell your friend to get a Ethernet cable and stop cheating.
-
Knowing you have a bad connection and playing PvP is just as bad as lag switching. I was one of those that had a bad connection. i stayed off pvp while i held me network provider to the fire until it was fixed. 1 bad connection will affect all in your fireteam. Tell your friend to get a better connection. all you need is a good 6mbs connection.

1 ReplyWhen i lag i cant kill anything, same with the people i play with. Somehow when the other team lags they are in god mode, if your teleporting and not taking damage and still shooting, you deserve to be reported, im sick of people that play this game with mcdonalds wifi
-
3 RepliesYou knew your friend was lagging but you still used it to an advantage ... Ei you're still cheating
-
No way! People are reporting because they're mad???? That's so unexpected!! With the vastly numbered "That was a fair kill, well played" and so few "X weapon/class OP, plz nerf" posts, you'd think people would be more more mature than that.
for real though, if you're salty about getting reported, tell your friend not to use a potato gateway
2 RepliesI see both sides of this. I don't think Bungie should, or even legally can, ban someone, even temporarily, for lagging. Unless they can PROVE it was due to a lag switch, of course. However, even one person in the match lagging can hose it for everyone else, especially if that person is the current host. More importantly, intentional or not, lag gives an almost comically unfair advantage to that player and, by extension, his/her team since, for some idiot reason, Bungie likes to give benefit of the doubt to the lagger when it comes to who shot whom first. I really only see 2 viable options: Bungie quits being a bunch a greedy -blam!-wits and springs for servers OR they allow kicking by either lobby vote or, in the case of private matches, the lobby host. Dice did both in BF3 and 4, even getting players to pay to "rent" the servers, and it worked spectacularly.

Doubt it even matters tbh, I've run into the same dude on several different occasions despite probably over a dozen reports of his obvious suspect behavior - green bar in lobby, but red bar during match while taking no damage and rubber-banding all over the place. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/175135286/0/0 ...

2 RepliesReporting someone doesn't go to bungie it goes to sony

4 RepliesEdited by SpillingShorts: 11/23/2015 1:09:59 AMIt happens. I got called a cheater because some dude used a hammer on me at the beginning of my revive animation. Bungie has already stated they won't review any footage that's sent to them.

1 ReplyYou know you're doin' good when you're teabagged or given hatemail.
-
6 RepliesWhy do you sound so guilty?
-
Probably doesn't matter if you get reported a few times. I would imagine it takes quite a few reports for anyone at bungie to do anything about it.
-
7 Replieswell truthfully if you were lagging you should be kept out of trials to begin with but in all honesty bungie has to protect cheaters i mean it is most of there players i think its why a lot of people still play pvp even with all the "unbalance" there's no dedicated servers so the cheaters won't get caught if there was dedicated servers there would be so few players left

It happens

Well hope your grind got reported for lagging.
