3 RepliesEdited by Leman of the Russ: 9/7/2015 5:00:49 PMAwoken Warlock, goes by the name of Light: Light was born during the golden age, about 6 years before the collapse. Lights parents were part of the very beginning idea of dead orbit. At the time of the Great Collapse, Light and his parents fled in a group jumpship. Outside, in space at the edge of the Darkness, the cataclysm occurred. Call it what you will, but with an effort to repel the Darkness, the Traveler let out a burst of energy to push back the dark. The dark pushed back. Caught in between to absolute forces, this fleet of humans changed. Some, like Light's parents were to old, and the shock killed them. Others, it changed. The power, it changed the skin of all, and left others with strange powers. Light, the power bleached his hair and attuned his mind to the void. Out in space, just at the asteroid belt that separated the gas giants and the smaller planets, a civilization was born. The combination of dismantled ships and altered minds led the awoken to create outposts and homes on these chunks of floating rock. And so, Light lived. He grew up to see his civilization rise, strange technologies rediscovered. And when he was old and feeble, he died peacefully in his sleep. His last wish was to be buried back on his home, Earth. And so, a small honor guard took his ashes back to Earth, and laid him to rest in the Cosmodrome where he left Earth for his first time. In his slumber, deep in the void he pondered. Death was never the end for him, he merely lived in in the land beyond death. And there, he saw a little Light. At first it was small and warm, and then bright, brighter, and brighter. It was so bright he had to cover his eyes. Only then he realized, he raised his hand. This small machine brought him back from the beyond. Not only that, but it brought him back in his prime. He was a teenager again! 17 and fit as can be. Clad in strange armour, with strange powers and magicks, he journeyed forth into the old conservatories and learned. He learned and he learned, never was his thirst for knowledge quenched. Out there, he brought his new might to bear, instilling fear into these four armed pirates and their underlings. And slowly, whenever he found something that he believed should not be lost, a book, a design, even an odd gold crown. He took it for himself, and began to build his own library. Eventually, a man, a Hunter found him. This man, named Shin explained what he was and where he should go. Shin gave him his ship, and directions to the last City on Earth. He merely stated that if he couldn't travel a few hundred miles overland by himself in enemy infested territory, he wasn't fit to wear a cloak. So, curious and excited Light went on his way. The City! Oh what a wonder. There he learned who he was, what he could do, and knowledge beyond what he ever imagined! He devoured every scrap of knowledge in that city. He gained a valuable friend, a Titan, a plain Spartan. Soon, he learned what he could in the city. Together with his friend, he soared off into the unknown. He came across treasures by the score, defeated Time, conquered a God, and defeated a Kell of which a prophecy spoke. He was content with his achievements. But he began to hear whispers, rumors a hive God was coming to avenge the death of his Son. The blood of his son was on Lights hands. And so he prepared. He dived into the fires of the Crucible, and came out forged anew. Confident of himself, he now waits, silent and drowsing in a stasis chamber, for when he may wreak the vengeance of his people upon the forces of the Dark.

2 RepliesEdited by Salohcin J: 9/7/2015 4:38:45 AMTitan: Though his past is mostly unknown, he remembers slightly who he was by the engravings "Salohcin J." on his dogtags. This is his full past: Salohcin was one of the greatest generals that planet Earth had ever seen. When the Traveler came, human lifespan increased threefold. Salohcin, however, was pessimistic. He knew no matter how long he lived, he would never see another war. So, despite the wonderful days of the Golden Age, Salohcin spoke to the scientists at Clovis Bray to use the new technology and preserve his body and mind until a future conflict arose. They agreed, and Operation Safeguard was a go. Within a few months (of which time Salohcin gave war strategies to the Seven Seraphs for their Warmind project), the perfect Cryopreservation chamber was established. And in he went... Fast forward to the collapse. The scientists saw the coming of the Darkness and released Salohcin to help. Salohcin was a general though, so he couldn't fight it by himself and a handful of scientists. Thus, he made a tactical retreat to earth, more specifically the Cosmodrome. There, he went to try and recruit any noble souls he could find and convince them to avoid leaving to their inevitable doom and fight with him (It is rumored that he is a major reason so many Guardians are found by the cosmodrome). Though they fought bravely and fiercely, Salohcin and his team were overwhelmed, and they fell. That is, until, the ghost finds him. God, it's good to be back! Hunter: Propheta-3 was a specially designed Exo with a single purpose. Assassinations of the highest degree. Many who claim the Golden Age wasn't as peaceful as believed use his actions (though then he was Propheta-1) as proof. Any who opposed the Traveller were immediately silenced by Propheta and his team. Dark and looming, the mere sight of his shadowy figure struck fear into those who felt guilt. Propheta-1 continued these secret assassinations until the "event" in which all Exos gained consciousness. He then became Propheta-2. This new Propheta was appalled by his past and swore to never again harm a living soul. He tried a peaceful existence, but could not escape the ghosts of his past. After a century, he had enough and decided to leave for Mars, where he believed Clovis Bray scientists could help him forget his haunting memories forever (his first reset didn't work that long). Due to Rasputin's commands, Earth civilians were not informed of the coming Darkness, so the words of the crazy retired general (Salohcin) outside were madness. Besides, he swore to never kill again. As he was about to depart, the Darkness came over the place. Gunshots were heard, yet Propheta did nothing. He tried to flee, yet he didn't go far before a bullet entered his memory circuit. We now have Propheta-3 (being his third "reset"). He has either suppressed, forgotten, or accepted all of his previous misdeeds. He no longer remembers that oath of nonviolence, and instead actively seeks it out against the Darkness. He is one of the few exos who are glad to forget their past and happily accept their current life. Those who see him around the Tower describe him as not what they expected. He is not a sociopath, nor a hippie. Rather, he is a fun-loving, carefree Exo. Those who talk to him always leave with a laugh and a smile. Besides, you should see this guy's knife juggling act!

Backstories not really but they have defined personalities. Titan is a bloodknight (that means loves fighting/war for those who dunno) who prefers up front brute strength, so she prefers Cabal and Fallen to Hive or Vex. And she doesn't like the crucible because she believes killing things who don't stay dead is pointless. She doesn't think too much about the Vanguard and the Speaker&Traveler. Hunter is called Xyn (only one I have a name for), likes roaming around and sniping as a secondary hobby. She doesn't like the Cabal because they have no finesse, prefers the Fallen since they're roamers too and they're also the most/only sympathetic-ish enemy faction. Finds Hive tunnels and Vex constructs fun to explore but doesn't relish dealing with their more advanced capabilities (magic and time -blam!-ery, etc). She dislikes the crucible for being a social activity, preferring solitude. She follows what the Speaker says but keeps an eye on him and the Traveler, quote "Always wary of free kindnesses, they are seldom truly priceless". Warlock is a creepy good type, similar to Eris Morn, or perhaps more accurately, closer to Toland or Osiris. She seeks "Truth" above all else (as in absolute knowledge or whatever, not the RL) and mostly disregards or dismisses much of anything else. She holds many opinions neither the Vanguard nor the Speaker would approve of, such as thinking the extinction of the Ahamkara was a mistake, quotes "They ordered the Serpents dead to quell our hunger so we would submit, do you trust they who desire slaves ?" "It is easy claiming to preach truth when yours is the only word. Interesting how those who might have said other words were made extinct". She also tends to agree with Understandings of the Books of Sorrow (which I guess even having read is seen as bad), such as the 13th seen on Thorn, seeing enemies as empty shells, lesser beings, mere things even. Which supports her similar belief that since they can revive indefinitely Guardian lives are meaningless, more so than regular lives are in objective terms. She thinks what happen to the Eliksni/Fallen is a shame (will still totally destroy them in combat though), the Cabal are boring idiotic brutes. Finds the Vex fascinating but her real "passion" is the Hive, since while the Vex have interesting abilities, they are but tech, while the Hive defy the laws of reality with outright magic and are capable of things even the Vex can't do, such as concretizing abstract concepts as weapons (i.e. the death song). She doesn't think much of the Vanguard and neither of the Speaker, even going as far as deeming the Darkness more trustworthy than the Traveler, since it, at least, speaks to it's minions and is upfront to it's enemies. The Traveler uplifted the Eliksni then abandoned them when trouble came, and now that they come back, it helps a new species destroy it's former protégés. The Darkness has kept the Hive for countless Eons.

She was left to rot, because she laid the biggest fart in the car that her family left her, but her dog died with her. Because he couldn't operate doors and had to live his last few minutes in that fart car

OMG I never thought I'd get the chance to post mine. Mine was (as the name of my PSN Suggests) A robot exo built in the Caribbean out of old metal from oil drums. Was used for playing music and house stuff, then when the collapse came the people who built him tried to take him to Old Russia to escape, then died in the massacre. The ghost found him and thought he would be a good guardian so revived him and now he kills Skolas and Atheon for fun and loves slicing up crota and gets disappointed if he forgets to kill a boss or do flawless in a week. Even though the speaker said they wouldn't survive the darkness. And he is about to kill Oryx and then brag.

Raider 37 exo warlock: though he cannot recall his past, the tales of how he came to be were told to him through the years, he was found by bandits in the outskirts of the cosmodrome by a group of mercenaries l, he was then exchanged for money all across the mercenary hauses, when years later he earned his title as an honorable soldier, years later when his faction tried attacking the city to collect it's vast riches they were met by an armada of fallen just outside the city walls, a bloody and brutal battle broke out, until in the end only his fireteam of 2 people were left as they approached the entrance an injured fallen captain managed to stab and dismember the last guardian by his side , after shooting the fallen in the head leaving his corpse limp beside his fallen comrades , venturing into the walls he found himself in blinding darkness, leaving his trusty kvoshtov at a box nearby to find the electrical switch nearby he was abused, a dregs took a slash at him but quickly countered taking his knife and killing it before he finished his lunge, he then was holding a knife and could see his kovoshtov being taken by another guardian , a lesser guardian, he saw him run across the trip mines and escape the walls that held so many dark inhabitants, as he grew vengeful he then found himself on the floor ,twitching, standing on him, a vandal, laughing and claiming victory by raising his arm and howling. Years later, a ghost found him unknowing of his past, he aided him through the solar system unknowing of the true meaning behind Raiders eagerness to get to the cruicible, to find the Guardian, that white clothed guardian who took his chance of living and escaping, he would reclaim his kovoshtov and sport the mask of the treacherous guardian, but only after he crushed the guardians ghost so he couldn't be brought back to life, taking what the Guardian took from Raider all those years ago, his life.

I like to think that my Gaurdian was part of an elite spec ops team pre collapse that tried to prevent the collapse. They would of worked on learning how to use the light as a weapon and my character learned to weild the light like a Warlock using technology. The elite team battled on the front lines and eventualy fell back to defend the traveler before witnissing its sacrifice. The team then fled to old russia trying to preserve the technology they used, dying one by one on the way finally arriving at the Cosomodrome only to find it had fallen to the Fallen (ffs I should just say Elsinki) he then went down in the same style as Lone Wolf in REACH destroying his technology in the process, however the light used by my gaurdian left an imprint on him drawing his ghost to him. TL;DR My Gaurdian is a badass.

My hunter's name is Bob. He was working in a 21st century cubicle as an accountant. After that, he went home, sat down on the couch, opened a beer, and fired up destiny. Then he went into the crucible, complained about thorn, and left. He met xur, then stomped away in frustration when all that was being sold was no land beyond and young ahamkara's spine. Bob began getting more frustrated with destiny, but only grinded harder, for that gjallarhorn. Soon his wife became depressed because Bob was not taking care of the kids or her. Then came the day, Bob opened the chest, in the mighty vault of glass, and screamed with joy. After over 1000 hours of hard grinding, he earned the Gjallarhorn. The very next weekend, XUR sold it. His tombstone reads: Bob RIP 1984-2015 A loving father and husband Centuries later, he couldn't believe what he heard, "Eyes up guardian!" Bob fought through the wall, seemingly knowing every enemy's location and hitting them with deadly precison. He once again conquered the vault of glass, earning the mighty vex mythoclast. He began training on the crucible. At first, he was unstoppable. Then came Dregden Yor. Bob's last words were, "I hate my life."
